Lau Chan is a character in the Virtua Fighter video game series. He is a father of Pai Chan and the master of the Tiger Swallow Fist fighting style and the world famous chef.
Biography[]
Lau participated in the first World Fighting Championship to test his skills and eventually become a winner. He continued to participate in future tournaments, even though his restaurant (economically) and his body (due to rare diseases) failed.
Lau was looking for a successor in the monk Lei Fei, but he turned to his master of illness.
However, Pai saved him. As death approaches, Lau intends not to see Pai in a weakened state, but is invited to participate in the fifth competition. Here he will fight his last fight.

Pai's estranged father, Lau wanted her to marry Liu Kowloon so that there would be a successor to the Koenkan. However, right after he left Koenkan, Liu Kowloon immediately abused of his power turning the Koenkan into a terrorist organization, giving troubles to Akira and his friends, along with other innocent people, also he wanted to kill his master.
When Lau Chan realizes it, with the help of his master, Shun Di he interrupts the fake marriage between Pai (who has been forced, after being hypnotized by Eva Durix) and Liu Kowloon, as he wants to punish him for abusing of the Koenkan and turning it to an evil organization. However, He later helps Pai, Akira and the others to defeat Eva's Dural robot.
