He is a loyal friend to the Mcduck family who works for Scrooge McDuck as his limousine driver & pilot, he also becomes Darkwing Duck's sidekick in the latter's show.

He was voiced by Beck Bennett.

Appearance[]

His physical appearance is the same as his 1987 counterpart, he wears an outfit resembling that of private commercial pilots from the 40s/50s, including a baseball cap, a brown bomber jacket with a fur-lined collar, a green undershirt, and white slacks.

History[]

Season One[]

Launchpad is first seen driving Scrooge back to his Manor, where he stops in front of Donald's car, to drop by Huey, Dewey, and Louie off while he is off going for a job interview, later on, he assists in subduing a gold eating dragon by flying the sunchaser plane for the first time. Afterwards he pilots the submarine Scrooge uses to head down into atlantis, and by the end, Scrooge has gotten a brand new thirst for adventure and personally become's the McDuck family's pilot as they travel around the world.

Eventually, Launchpad officially gets his driver's liscense, but his job as Scrooge's chauffer is put into question as Mark Beaks unveils a new self-driving car, determined to prove he can be a safe driver, Launchpad challenges Beaks' invention to a race to prove that men are better than machines. Even though he loses, Gyro discovers Beaks stole his robot technology after Fenton posted it on the internet. Launchpad and Fenton both lose their jobs and end up humiliated. But when Scrooge, Dewey, Gyro, and Beaks become trapped inside the self-driving car, it is up to Launchpad and Fenton to save them; with Fenton using Gyro's top-secret project, a cybernetic suit, to become the robotic superhero "Gizmoduck". In the end, Launchpad gets his job back and earns Scrooge's recognition and respect

Later, when the family goes on vacation, he witnesses Scrooge reveal what happened to triplet's mother and when he finishes, The boys blame Scrooge for it and after finally returning home, everyone moves out of the mansion.

Completely unwilling to leave his boss alone in his sadness and let the family move away from him, Launchpad teams up with Webby and Ms. Beakley to get them to change their minds, while they successfully, they learn during that time that Scrooge's sorceress enemy Magica De Spell has returned and wrecks havoc across Duckburg, Launchpad aids in the rescue by trying to ram his plane into the bin, but is constantly stopped by the shadows, but once Magica is defeated, he jumps of the plane (which lands in the ocean) and crashes atop Magica, much to her chagrin. In celebration, Launchpad swims with the others in Scrooge's gold, accidentally swallowing some while doing so.

Season Two[]

Launchpad continues to pilot the McDucks around the world, but then one day, to everyone's delight, They find Della on their doorstep, as she spent the past decade trying to get back to earth while on the moon the whole time, Launchpad begins to be friendly with Della but when he admits he is a pilot too, he winds up getting in bad blood with her when Della believes Scrooge replaced her during her long absence, but remains nice to her nonetheless.

After learning that a Darkwing Duck movie is in production, he and Louie, along with Jim Starling (former lead actor in the old Darkwing Duck show), head to the studio producing the movie; McDuck Studios. There Launchpad not only thinks the movie doesn't truly represent Darkwing Duck, but also learns that the titular role will be played by someone other than Jim Starling. Launchpad initially goes along with Jim's plan to have the latter replace the movie's lead actor: however, after learning how the young actor is an equally big fan of Darkwing himself, Launchpad decides to help the lead actor in making the actual movie better. Sadly due to Jim Starling's refusal to be "replaced", the movie is ruined and Jim goes missing. But ultimately it's Launchpad's view on true heroism that inspires the young actor, Drake Mallard, to become an actual superhero.

During the Celebration honoring Cornelius Coot, Launchpad meets Della who is preparing the Sunchaser for a shywriting stunt, Della begins to grow weary because of the majority of the crashes being Launchpad's fault, and when she learns how he usually fixes the plane after a crash (such as having a hamster operate the propellers) she tries to teach him how to fly, to no avail. but nonetheless, she is impressed by his action when they manage to save the boys and Webby from Ma Beagle and The Beagle Boys.

During a Timephoon (originally just a normal typhoon before Louie uses a time machine whose powers affect the typhoon) Launchpad is sent to an alternate future where the earth is reduced to a wasteland, despite the traumatic event, he found it awesome nonetheless.

Later when the earth is attacked by aliens, he aids Scrooge in fending off the invaders, and when Scrooge is forced to team up with Glomgold, he successfully breaks into his flagship and shuts the ship down, and when the world is saved once again, he meets Penumbra and becomes smitten with her, much to her annoyance.

Season Three[]

During a trip at Funso, Launchpad gains intelligence after being hit by Black Heron's "Intelli-ray", though she got interrupted by FOWL agent Steelbeak, and before he can use it on all of Duckburg, Launchpad is able to stop him with help from F.O.W.L.'s former lab rats; though at the cost of his intelligence.

Launchpad and Dewey reunite with Drake, who is struggling with his superhero career and meet a young girl named Gosalyn Waddlemeyer, who snuck into a facility owned by Taurus Bulba, who is secretly a FOWL agent with a device that can open rifts to other dimensions called the Solego Circuit. Launchpad becomes an uncle figure to Gosalyn and helps her and Drake Mallard stop Taurus Bulba's scheme, who volunteers to join Drake in his heroic career.

In the Final Battle against FOWL, Launchpad is the only one left free, but is forced to fight both Steelbeak and brainwashed villains, feeling despondent over being unable to save anyone, Launchpad feels like giving up. However, Darkwing and Fenton offer him words of encouragement, revealing they were inspired by him to be heroes, same goes for Goselyn, Penumbra, Storkules, and everyone else, feeling inspired once again, Launchpad adorns himself in the Rebooted gizmoduck armor and takes out all the villains, and releases the heroes, afterwards he joins up with everyone else and watch a defeated Bradford get turned into a non-anthropomorphic vulture by Magica, sky-diving back down to Duckburg along with everyone else in victory (which he caused by accident, albeit by opening the back of the plane, causing everyone to get sucked out).
