| “ | I always knew he'd come back. In this town, Michael Myers is a myth. He's the Boogeyman. A ghost story to scare kids. But this Boogeyman is real. An evil like his never stops, it just grows older. Darker. More determined. Forty years ago, he came to my home to kill. He killed my friends, and now he's back to finish what he started, with me. The one person who's ready to stop him. | „ |

Laurie Strode is the main protagonist of the 2018 timeline of John Carpenter's Halloween franchise, the sequel continuity to the original 1978 slasher film of the same name, ignoring all its previous installments.
In this timeline, she is not related to Michael Myers and his family, but she is now elderly and is waiting for Michael to come back and is prepared to finish him off once and for all when he escapes from an asylum after being locked up for 40 years. Because of this, she is Michael's arch- nemesis.
She was portrayed by Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrayed her original counterpart and Madame Leota in the 2023 Haunted Mansion film adaptation.

While she was babysitting, Laurie walks to the Wallace house to see how things were, and she soon sees the dead bodies of her friends, Annie, Lynda and Bob Simms. She soon gets attacked by Michael Myers and he tries to kill her, but failed as Laurie fights back by attacking him with various weapons. Michael soon gets back up and strangles her, but he gets shot six times by Dr. Samuel Loomis, who investigated the house, making him fall off the balcony, but survives the shots and gets up and walks away.
Halloween (2018)[]
In the 2018 timeline, Laurie is now old and is still waiting for Michael after 40 years and is ready to finish him off once and for all as she armed her house with various weapons and puts up security systems. Her behavior has also lead to strained relationships with her family, especially her daughter, Karen Nelson. She fights Michael in the climax and traps him in the hidden room below and drops a flare to burn him to death and escapes the burning house with her daughter and her granddaughter Allyson Nelson.
Halloween Kills[]
Laurie is now hospitalized and soon realizes from Tommy Doyle that Michael is still alive and tries to face him again, but to no avail due to Karen trying to keep her safe. She has a talk with Deputy Frank Hawkins about Michael.
Halloween Ends[]
Laurie is now taking care of Allyson after her mom died and looks after her and becomes suspicious of the man, Corey who is dating her (and who Laurie defended from the teenage bullies) and wants to help Corey but warns him to stay away from Allyson. Laurie tries to warn Allyson of him being a serial killer like Michael but doesn't get listened to and gets blamed for ruining Allyson's life.
When she was typewriting, she seemingly commits suicide, but it turns out she was faking it and she shoots at Corey when he enters her house and Corey commits suicide by stabbing himself in the neck to make it look like Laurie killed him. When Allyson sees this, she believes Laurie killed him and runs away to her car and drives off. Then, Michael attacks her in her house and she fights against him for the final time and pins him to the table, but Michael strangles Laurie and almost kills her, but suddenly, Allyson, who came back, saves her by breaking his arm. The police arrive and they, Laurie, and Allyson take Michael to the salvage yard, which attracts residents of Haddonfield. Laurie then finally finishes Michael off by putting him into the industrial shredder, finally killing him.
Abilities[]
- Peak Human Strength: In 1978, Laurie was able to break a section of a glass window when it was jammed shut- Later, she managed to push Michael back and rip off his mask when he was choking her. Fairly athletic due to her constant training over the years during the 2018 Era. Pushed Michael back to escape one of his deadly chokeholds, a Myers who has also grown significantly stronger than before. Lauroe has also harmed Michael with her hits as well. While still recovering from her injuries, Laurie easily overpowered an angered doctor. Physically pinned a weaker Michael down on a table without much struggle, thought both are notably not at the peak of their power here.
- High Durability: Fell from a balcony railing and only recieved a slight limp. Withstood an elbow from Michael and beforehand, she was stabbed by him and thrown from her second story balcony. In Halloween Ends, she withstood a head stomp from Michael that previously crushed a doctor's head, thought both arent at the peak of their power here.
- Fighting Skills: Trained in martial arts ever since 1978 to defend herself from enemies or for Michael's return. Fought evenly against Michael Myers, whom had shown to be able to take on a police officer and a group of trained firefighters.
- Marksmanship: Trained in the usage of firearms and melee weaponry for 40 years in preparation for Michael Myers' escape. Her training proved to be effective, as she was displayed making accurate kill-shots during practice, and could even blast three fingers off of Michael while he was choking her through a door.
- Stealth Mastery: Easily snuck into her daughter's house to test her without her noticing. Was able to catch Michael off-guard, such as when she vanishing after being thrown off of her balcony where she then snuck up on him later.
- Very High Intelligence: Laurie is a self-sufficient fighter, and tends to use anything she can from the environment around her, using random household objects to fend off against her enemies. Tricked Corey by faking her own suicide. Transformed an old, rundown building into a home fortress with functioning electricity, water supply, natural gas, and telephone lines along with a secret underground basement made from scratch that had built-in locking system and gas valves, and numerous different security systems set outside the house including motion sensors, security cameras, and telephone entry systems.
