Role as heroes[]
Defeated but not dead, Lava Monsters reorganized under Magmar's command and left the Lava Lands. Having walked a long distance, they came across a land surrounded by a wall of fire, with a Rogul statue standing in the center. Magmar considered this a sign that the monsters should build a town on this land, which they did, naming it "Burningham". While working hard on their new home, they recalled the times they used to destroy towns and villages across Knighton, felt shame for their actions and decided to leave their villainous past behind. They abandoned fighting and lived in peace, harmony and seclusion from the rest of the kingdom ever since.
This all changed when Monstrox, reborn as a living cloud, Jestro and their Stone Monsters army came across Burningham while searching for a Forbidden Power. Monstrox went to check in on their town, being surprized to see it populated by his former minions and believing it to be a dream at first. Nevertheless, he talked to Burnzie and Sparkks, who, unaware of who they were speaking with, told him what exactly happened to them after Nexo Knights defeated Monstrox and why they had a change of heart. Monstrox noticed that the Rogul statue held the Forbidden Power of Blazing Burn and tried to trick the monsters into giving it to him. His plan was foiled by Magmar, who recognized him and ordered Whiparella to kick him out of the town. Monstrox was forced to retreat, but swore revenge.
To deal with his former master's eventual return, Magmar requested Nexo Knights for help. As the heroes came to Burningham, they discovered that Lava Monsters had completely lost their fighting prowess due to their peaceful lives, and tried to teach them how to fight once again. Once Jestro and the Stone Monsters attacked the town, the former enemies fought against the invaders as one. The Stone Monsters took what they believed to be the Rogul and left. Jestro was greatly disappointed to find out that the "Rogul" was actually a disguised Beast Master, while Monstrox, on the other hand, was delighted to see his right-hand get humiliated.
Meanwhile, Lava Monsters celebrated their victory, with Magmar commenting on how it wouldn't hurt to keep in touch with their monster side once in a while. The monsters, however, went back to fighting each other, with Magmar, despite trying to dissuade them from this at first, joining them.
Trivia[]
- Unlike other Lava Monsters, Infernoxes aren't seen in Burningham, leaving it unknown if they redeemed themselves or even survived the final battle against Nexo Knights.
- The Lava Monsters turning pacifistic after a lengthy absense from the series directly parallels a similar situation regarding the Serpentine from LEGO Ninjago series.
