Lavagirl is one of the two titular main deuteragonists of the 2005 3D film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, alongside Sharkboy.
She is one of the superheroes Max dreams up. She is the other young warrior who protects Planet Drool. She is uncertain of her own identity and purpose throughout much of the film.
Lavagirl is portrayed by Taylor Dooley.
Lavagirl is a teenage girl with long pink hair and a pink bodysuit, cracked throughout to reveal glowing magma.
Lavagirl is caring, compassionate, selfless, and has a fiery temper. She has an explosive temper like Sharkboy, but is better at controlling it than he is and rarely gets very angry.
Powers and Special Abilities
As one might guess, Lavagirl has lava (magma) related powers. Not only can she generate and control fire and magma, she is in fact made of magma. In her magma form she can switch between solid and liquid magma; she is also able to assume the form of a teenage human.
Despite her form she constantly radiates heat and can accidentally burn things she touches... She has some control of how much she radiates but when she gets angry the heat increases and she might even erupt into flames.
In addition to emitting heat she can also generate light.
Due to being made of magma, Lavagirl is invulnerable to magma, heat and fire. In fact magma revives and repowers her.
Lavagirl has a limited ability to fly by projecting fire from her hands and feet.
Lavagirl has some level of superhuman strength, reflexes and stamina; the exact levels are not clear. She has also shown a high level of agility.
Large amounts of water will extinguish her and eventually even kill her.
- Miley Cyrus was considered for the role of Lavagirl, but had to drop out, as she was filming Hannah Montana. In addition to Cyrus, Mandy Moore, AnnaSophia Robb, Taylor Momsen, Aly Michalka, Dakota Fanning, and Victoria Justice were all considered for the role of Lavagirl.
