The Excitable A-Lister's partner is called Serious Handler (勝気な㎨薦組 in Japanese). She is a member of the Research Commission's Fifth Fleet, just like him.

Background[]
Serious Handler, a member of the Fifth Fleet, was brought on board by the Research Commission. The fleet's goal is to find the Elder Crossing solution by pursuing Zorah Magdaros.
Monster Hunter World[]
A member of the Fifth Fleet, Serious Handler was paired with an excitable A-Lister to form a hunter-handler duo. On the day they met, she became friends with the hunter who would become the Sapphire Star and went to the New World in the same boat. As the Commission moved into the last stages of unraveling the Elder Crossing mystery, which resulted in the destruction of Xeno'jiiva, she would then be occupied assisting her eager companion in completing duties. She chose to remain a little while longer, even though the Guild allowed all Commission members to leave the New World when their job was over.
Final Fantasy Crossover[]
A while after the Elder Crossing Mystery was solved, Serious Handler spotted something strange in the Wildspire Waste and asked the Sapphire Star to look into it. They learn that materials and creatures from a different realm called Eorzea are becoming trapped in their own, including a clever and inquisitive creature that they believe to be a Moogle.
When the Moogle was brought to Astera, a number of Commission members took notice. Excitable A-Lister was unable to detect the Moogle's presence at all, but Serious Handler was somehow able to comprehend the creature, which appears to be interpreted differently by each individual.
The Moogle alerted them about the presence of a formidable entity known as the Behemoth, which had traveled from Eorzea and may potentially endanger the entire New World. Serious Handler assisted in deciphering this warning. With the Aetheryte crystal stable, the Moogle was able to depart for his home world in peace after the beast was rapidly but laboriously defeated.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne[]
Following the Commission's pursuit of the enigmatic Legiana and their discovery of the Hoarfrost Reach, Serious Handler and her colleague relocated to Seliana, where they are still operating in the freezing region.
In the Reach, the Handler once made a finding that was both highly personal to her and vital to their inquiry. She was torn between continuing to follow the lead with the Tracker and responding to a summons to Astera with her partner. While the Sapphire Star completes assignments back in the New World, Serious Handler offered to fill in for her for the time being, enabling the Handler to continue her research in the Reach. The Serious Handler assisted the Sapphire Star in dealing with hitherto unseen monsters in the New World until the Handler eventually returned with additional information that would ultimately be crucial in solving the "Songs" mystery.
