Leafy is the deuteragonist of the animated web series Battle for Dream Island, and is a minor character in IDFB and Battle for Dream Island: The Power of Two.
She is voiced by Michael Huang, who also voices serval characters in the series such as Firey, Bubble, Coiny, Blocky, and Flower.
Appearance[]
Leafy is a lemon leaf. Her body is green, with a lighter midrib. In her metal form, she is gray with a white midrib.
Personality[]
Leafy is selfless and kind and helps people such as Woody and Ice Cube. She is also friendly and likes almost everyone. Despite her friendliness, Leafy acts mean when someone doesn't accept her kindness.
She also is quite inconsistent, as she is willing stab people at times in BFDIA. She also is slightly dictatorial when she is a leader, as she often assigns jobs to her teammates rather than helping them. Leafy will often get to irrational conclusions and doesn't consider other's viewpoints.
Biography[]
Battle for Dream Island[]
Leafy is introduced talking to Woody to make his life feel better by enjoying it. During the contest, she and Pin work together. Flower attempts to kick them, but Blocky licks her, which causes her to fall off. When it is down to her and Pin, the two decide on who should win Dream Island, only for the Announcer to come up and say they both win and become the team captains.
After picking teams, Leafy suggests ideas during the boat contest. Leafy later joins Coiny and Ice Cube on the motor boat. They crash and end up passing the finish line. When Leafy tries to reach the finish line, it gets windy and she flies away, and after Pin finished first, her team was up for elimination.
In "Barriers and Pitfalls", Leafy gets through the first obstacle, and helps Ice Cube on a later obstacle. Ice Cube thanks her, but is later killed after Leafy accidentally drops a bowling ball on her.
Leafy attempts to hit the Announcer with a hammer in "Sweet Tooth", wanting to know what he is. Leafy bakes a giant cake for the contest and shares it to anyone who has trouble making one themselves.
Leafy is one of the five contestants who are chosen to race. Leafy sits on Ice Cube since she has no arms to carry. Leafy and her team win the contest and is told that an eliminated contest will rejoin.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare", she remains in the Squashy Grapes alongside Blocky, Ice Cube, Snowball, and Teardrop. Leafy gets tied alongside the rest of the team thanks to Snowball's reckless endangerment.
Leafy carries Ice Cube up a latter in "A Leg Up in the Race", with them placing 5th and 4th respectively. With their points being added, they avoid the danger zone.
In the taco making contest in "Vomitaco", she makes a large taco to help anyone just like she did in "Sweet Tooth". This time, she goes first as she got lower points last time, being liked by 6 of the eliminated contestants.
Leafy gives springy shoes to Bubble, Pencil, and Ice Cube in "The Reveal". Leafy and Ice Cube work together for the contest, but Leafy accidently kills her and tries to recover her. Leafy gets a penalty and loses the challenge since they didn't finish it.
Leafy wins the tiebreaker in "Reveal Novum". Leafy stops being friends with Bubble after the latter threw away her spring shoes in order to focus in the challenge. Leafy later tells Bubble that she is one of the meanest people she ever met.
In "Recession", Leafy tries to make Ice Cube avoid Bubble at all costs, though this is backfired as this costed them the challenge. Leafy wins immunity from Bubble so the latter proves the she is nice, though Leafy is not impressed by it. Leafy and Firey become friends in "Gardening Hero" and work together to take out Spongy, but they miss.
Leafy tries to win immunity in "Hurtful!" and helps Firey and Bubble on the way. During the volcano challenge from "Don't Pierce My Flesh", Bubble tells Leafy that she is tired of her being nice all the time, which shocks Leafy.
In "Insectophobe's Nightmare 2", she tries to be friends with Bubble again, but later changes her mind thanks to Bubble's inconsistent friendship with her. Leafy also rides a Ferris wheel Firey built for her, but gets burnt to death thanks to her getting hit by lava. After the bug attack, Leafy states that the contestants, including her, faked their deaths.
Leafy places second place in "Return of the Hang Glider". Firey invites everyone to Dream Island except her since Firey thinks that she didn't appreciate his Ferris wheel. Leafy gets angry and buys Dream Island, which makes Dream Island disappear. Golf Ball later finds out that she stole Dream Island, which makes everyone turn against her. Pin states she deserves a death penalty and the rest (except Firey) agree. Before Leafy gets killed by Flower's Announcer crusher, Firey swoops down and saves her. Firey apologizes for what he did and states that all he wants is friendship. The two then glide away, ending the season.
Battle for Dream Island Again[]
Leafy is chased by several contestants into the Evil Forest, she teleports to Yoyleland by using a map, only for it to later be torn up by Pin. In the end of the episode, Leafy is seen with Boombox, who is broadcasting an ad for the Leafy Detector.
Leafy later appears in a metal state in "Get Digging", due to eating yoyleberries. Leafy later attempts to kill Needle, as well as Gelatin and Puffball when they get out of Yoyleland.
In "Get in the Van", Pin and Bubble discuss on how they hate Leafy. They try to freeze her but fail since she is metal. Leafy discusses that she is hungry and is unsure what food she wants. After Firey is recovered, he acts confused and says he doesn't remember her. Leafy was at the verge of tears until Gelatin came and crushed her with a mallet, killing her.
Firey revives her in "Well Look Who It Is!", but she doesn't see him do so. Her calling out "who?" releases Evil Leafy from her restraints.
IDFB[]
Leafy, in her metal form, is holding a knife, planning to take out either Fries or Coiny, but when Coiny does his "deep-fried breaths", she retreats back to the bush.
Battle for BFDI[]
Leafy returns to her normal state and appears to be friendly again. Leafy also forms a team towards characters who need help and calls it BEEP. She cheers on Cloudy and Balloony during the contest, with the latter wins the contest and is safe from elimination.
In "Lick Your Way to Freedom", Leafy assigns jobs to her teammates. When she orders Cloudy to collect a jawbreaker, he flies off, enraging her. Leafy also uses Woody to lick a jawbreaker, but loses her grip. Leafy tries to recover Balloony after their team loses, but inflates him so much that he pops.
Leafy is eliminated in "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset", with every one on BEEP reviled that she is eliminted. However, Leafy says that she misses her team and that they were fantastic before getting sucked by Four.
In "Enter the Exit", Leafy can be one of the contestants that could rejoin. She rejoins the show in "Get in the Top in 500 Steps" with 13,835 votes, and joins The Losers!
In "The Four is Lava", Leafy is rescued by Firey when Needle slaps her into the lava. The two argue when Firey pretends that he doesn't know her. Leafy then reveals that Firey recovered her in the past season, with Firey saying that nobody likes her anymore, and that if he is still friends with her, Firey says that they will hate him. Leafy refuses to participate, but is forced into competing. The two continue to argue. Leafy then asks Four if he can recover Eggy, which he does. Leafy tries to prove to Firey that she has at least one friend, only for the latter to proclaim that she stole Dream Island. In "The Escape from Four", she was one of the fourteen contestants to remain in BFB.
Battle for BFB[]
In "X Marks the Spot", she is approached by Gelatin for suggestions to to get X. Her team uses the FreeSmart SuperVan to get X, but they lose the contest.
In "Take the Tower", Leafy thanks the viewers for giving her the most votes, only for Four to place duct tape on her mouth. During the challenge, she helps her teammates throw rocks off cliffs. When she gets on the bridge and is against Firey, she comes up with ways to escape. When Firey burns the bracelet, she, Bubble, and Gelatin are flung up and knock part of the tower.
In "Who Stole Donut's Diary?", Leafy gives Teardrop a type writer to document the titular case. When it is her turn to ask questions, she calls out Firey, which makes the latter make up a story about her stealing it. Leafy then asks Four if the two can have a private talk outside, which he agrees. After arguing, Leafy then tells Firey that she will claim that she stole the diary if he returns it. The two reconcile and hug, but kills Leafy due to being flammable. When she is revived, she claims that she stole the diary, which puts her team up for elimination. In the stinger, she agrees with Firey to clean the railroad, the two hug again, but kills her again.
In "Fashion For Your Face", she leads her team to the steam train, and invites Firey, but he wants to stay loyal to his team. She is excited to go inside Yellow Face's warehouse, but is later kicked by Flower for calling her sweaters "hideous". Leafy, alongside the other Have Cots, cause Purple Face's box to open, saying they can't escape him and is about to be eaten. Leafy then uses the sweaters a balls to prevent getting eaten by him. She is later trapped in Purple Face for seven hours.
The Power Of Two[]
Leafy, along with Firey, appear in a cameo in "Balancing P.A.C.T" when Pin flies over their island that they found after the end of BFB. Leafy calls out to her cheerfully.
Leafy and Firey appear at the beginning of "Category One," on their island (known as Dreamier Island) setting up shelter before a storm caused by One hits the island. Once it passes, Leafy is nowhere to be seen.
Trivia[]
- According the the BFDI character guide, Leafy always loses on her 73rd game of Tic-Tac-Toe.
- Leafy is the first contestant to perform a dodging pattern.
- She was the last of the BFDI finalists to be eliminated in BFB.
- She is the only female member of BEEP.
- She and Flower are the only 2 contestants who have placed in the final four more than once.
- It's implied that she was captured by One after One's storm hit Dreamier Island.
