Squid Game[]

In the first day of the game, Myung-gi steps forward to request his phone and wallet, saying he needs to check the cryptocurrency market. Instead, a guard shows a video of him being slapped and exposes his scam along with his outstanding debt. After Myung-gi signs the consent form, players Nam-gyu and Thanos confront him. Both had suffered significant financial losses due to his cryptocurrency scheme. Thanos becomes enraged, grabs Myung-gi by the collar, and threatens him, but he is eventually persuaded not to act violently.

At the first day of the game he was confused by Gi-hun’s claimed that everyone will die if they fail but starts follow accordingly when it was proven that he was right. He successfully completes the game and votes ‘O’ to continue. Later, Thanos and Nam-gyu confront him again, demanding that he earn enough money to repay what he stole from them. Nam-gyu takes Myung-gi’s dinner, and after Thanos smashes it into his face, a physical fight breaks out. Thanos and Nam-gyu overpower him, but the fight is stopped when Oh Young intervenes. Myung-gi sits by himself when Jun-hee walks up and tells him she is in the games too. She points out that he failed to notice her and calls him self-absorbed. When he asks why she joined, she reminds him that he scammed her as well. Frustration builds in him after finding out she didn't get the abortion he had expected. Jun-hee accuses him of trapping her in the games by voting ‘O.’ Before leaving, she makes it clear that she has no intention of reconciling with him.

The next game was the Six-Legged Pentathlon which requires a team of 5 members, Myung-gi desperately tries to get Jun-hee to team up with him but she refuse due to her having her distaste form, instead she joins with Gi-hun's team while Myung-gi is left alone to join another team off-screen but eventually survives the game with his team. He's relieved to his pregnant ex-girlfriend come out of alive too and decides to switch his vote from O to X for her sake. Thanos, Nam-gyu, and Gyeong-su confront Myung-gi about voting ‘X,’ in the men's bathroom questioning why he made that choice when the prize money isn’t enough to cover his debt. Thanos claims Myung-gi is now his slave and will need to repay him if he wins the full prize. Myung-gi retorts by pointing out that Thanos would already be dead in that scenario and mocks his memory and poor rapping skills. Thanos grabs him and pushes him against the wall but steps back when Oh Young enters the room.

In "Mingle," Myung-gi survives the first two rounds, but he feels down when he sees Jun-hee join another group, leaving him feeling isolated. In the next round, the number is six. Young-mi, who is part of Jun-hee's group, gets accidentally knocked down by other players who were pushed aside. Seizing the moment, Myung-gi steps in and takes her spot by entering the room and locking the door, leaving Young-mi outside, where she is shot and killed. Hyun-ju, devastated, accuses Myung-gi, but he argues that there wasn’t enough time for Young-mi to make it to the room, and everyone would have died anyway. Jun-hee defends Myung-gi, and after the round ends, he thanks her, but she simply says he was right, and it didn’t matter. For the final round, the number is two, and Jun-hee and Myung-gi quickly pair up. He grabs her hand, and together they make it into the room.

When everyone returns to the dormitory, Myung-gi takes Jun-hee aside and suggests they start fresh, claiming that the 'X' team will probably win the vote and that their combined prize money will clear his debt. Jun-hee, however, believes he is just after her money and will abandon both her and the child, especially after he starts discussing his new investment plans. Thanos and Nam-gyu notice the two of them holding hands while talking and assume they are romantically involved. Despite this, Myung-gi goes ahead with his plan and votes 'X,' but the vote ends in a tie.

While in the bathroom, Myung-gi sees Thanos and Nam-gyu trying to pressure Park Min-su into changing his vote. He intervenes to protect Min-su, shouting that they are using force to manipulate the vote. This causes the bathroom to split into 'X' and 'O' sides. Thanos taunts Myung-gi about his relationship with Jun-hee, even commenting on the size of her belly. He threatens to cut off Myung-gi's finger, give it to Jun-hee, and ask her out if Myung-gi doesn’t change his vote. In response, Myung-gi attempts to punch Thanos, but misses, and a fight breaks out between everyone. Thanos gains the upper hand and mocks Myung-gi, saying his life will be his before choking him. Myung-gi, in desperation, uses his fork to stab Thanos in the throat, killing him. Horrified by what he's done, he shoves Thanos' body aside and locks himself in a bathroom stall, breaking down as the fighting continues outside. When the fight ends, Myung-gi and the other survivors leave the bathroom. Still in shock and covered in Thanos' blood, he returns to his bed. Jun-hee approaches him and warns him to hide when the lights go out, avoid fighting when the guards arrive, and clean off the blood. He agrees to follow her instructions.

Once Gi-hun's group manages to overpower the guards, they invite others to join them. Jun-hee, however, discreetly signals to Myung-gi to avoid volunteering. He survives the rebellion, having not participated in the revolt directly.
