Biography[]
Early Life[]
In 1997 (likely on September 22nd), Lee Ping was born the Son of Alfred & Sue Ping somewhere in Korea, when he was born he had a peculiar birth mark which is father quickly covered for then unknown reasons. While growing up in Korea, when he was old enough his father would give him lessons in sword fighting as a way of protection. Presumably as part of a new job offer that will support their family, Lee and his parents would move from Korea all the way to Toronto, Canada and started going to school, where he was quickly seen as a great prodigy in mathematics as well as a great violinist.
When he reached 3rd Grade, Lee met an Latin-African boy named Camillio Martinez, who he would give the nickname "Cam", who had just moved into town, though while he couldn't speak English he somehow knew how to flirt with girls, which would get him in trouble very soon. Lee and him would grow close when Cam unknowingly flirted with a girl another boy named Steve had a crush on which angered him & tried to attack him, but Lee was able to calm him down & the two of them have become best friends ever since, also during 5th grade he met a girl named Tina Kwee who she would secretly develop a crush on and vice versa.
At some point in his life Lee transferred to another school where it was here that he met a child prodigy in Math named Irwin Dexter and while he bonded greatly with him, he was very insufferable in his work and it was implied he forced Lee to join his own clique he dubbed "the mathletes", much to his embarrassment. This however did not deteriorate his friendship with Cam as on his 10th birthday he invited him and a trio of 3 other kids to the party, this would prove to be an extra special party for him as his parents had hired a famous magician known as "the amazing Finnwich" who hypnotized Cam, though while this seemed funny back then, Lee would unknowingly witness his friend doing far more things in the future.
When he and Cam reached the 9th Grade, they both encountered a goofy European exchange-student named Holger Holgaart being tormented by bullies lead by Irwin, prompting he and Cam to both defending and befriending him. Though this act of kindness would lead to him severing his friends with Dexter (that, and because he felt that his skills in other things made Lee stand-out way more than he did) forever, he along with Cam & Holger were inseparable friends ever since.
During his 9th Grade at A. Nigma high school (where he got a C in gym), Lee would notice how many students from the year would always stick to a specific group and stuck to it 'til the end of the year, and not willing to follow any of the crazy rules they established he made a vow to never join any of them & stick with the people he knows. But while this seemingly-complacent rule left him being seen as a loner, this is something Lee detracted from living his life, this however made him completely unaware that this type of status would play a role in changing his life forever.
Getting framed, Detention, and Grounded[]
On his first day of tenth grade, Lee makes it perfectly clear to Cam & Holger that he's still not gonna be joining clique in the school no matter what and intends to start the year with a clean slate, during classes he sees that Tina has now just joined the school's news team, but she's got to share it with the more rude & annoying news-anchor Chaz Monarainian, but he also learns that the usual school principal, principal Art Wurst, has gone missing and that his replacement 'til he returns is starting off the year with a mandatory assembly. While having lunch with his pals and pondering how's he gonna ask Tina out, Lee accidentally bumps into a notorious school bully named Biffy Goldstein, which he at first gets the ire of after he accidentally spills his drink on his shirt, fortunately he is saved by the vice-principal Veronica Victoria & he's slapped with time in detention, a punishment Lee jokes about and unaware what fate will befall him this very day.
When everyone heads to the gym to meet the new principal, Lee gets his first looks at him in the form of a cyborg and retired-general named Wendell Barrage, and he's as every bit as stern & tough as any army general could get, during the assembly though the drink he had earlier urges him to use the bathroom, but while he's there he hears someone using his phone and asks them to keep it down, eventually he finishes his bathroom break & heads back to the gym, but by the time he makes it back he had just made it to the aftermath of the "mother of all school pranks" & laughs at everyone covered up. This unfortunately would be the absolute worst time for his to laugh as this not only immediately gets him on the ex-military officer-turned-principal's bad-side, but he learns that his backpack was filled with everything needed to pull the prank off but despite Lee's objections, he is sentenced to detention... for the whole year but if that wasn't bad (& embarrassing) enough, his mom, who had taken a teaching job in the school & was present during the whole prank, grounds him for that same length as well, much to his total despair.
Following the insane assembly, Lee tries to explain to Cam & Holger that it wasn't him and that he was framed for pulling off the prank, though to his surprise, rather than having the entire school body hate him because they still believe he did it, Lee discovers that (almost) everyone has gained newfound respect for him & leads his framed "bad-boy" image to making the "most popular kid at school", something Cam tries to make him keep as this will help affect him & Holger's status as well. Eventually while he is forcefully interviewed by Tina and the rest of the school news team, Lee learns that their previous camera was lost during the prank and believing it may have contained footage of who really did it, he races off back to the gymnasium to get it but is confronted by scare-looking cleaners before he could get in & if that wasn't enough to take in, one of the popular girls Brandy Silver, just like his best friend, strives to take advantage of his newfound popularity via forcing him to be her new boyfriend, which frustrates him even more.
Later that day Lee is dragged by Barrage deep into the school's dusty basement which also serves as it's detention room, and he is left alone in a place that's littered with many unused desks and a sleeping teacher serving as his guard and his only source of company... along with a still angry-looking Biffy, whose looks more than ready to give him a real beating for getting him stuck in detention with him. Fortunately for him, not only does he discover that the kid has a soft side when not in front of the public and is perfectly cool with him, but he not only believes, he knows he didn't nor couldn't do the prank, still realizing he can still get footage of who really did the prank & since his friends are to busy, Lee is given the confirmation by Biffy that the teacher in detention never wakes up & with his help, he sneaks into a passageway in the school's air vent system to get the camera and find the footage he hopes that will clear his name.
Crawling his way through the school with his new partner & friend, Lee manages to get back into the auditorium while the cleaners are still getting the debris out of the way, Lee manages to get the camera but before he could even see who swiped his bag, someone else takes it away from him and escape from the auditorium, prompting the new "Detentionaire" to chase after him. Racing down the hallways thanks to a skateboard he found, Lee chases the thief all the way to the school's pool room, but he loses sight of him & the cleaners spot him, despite getting into an insane chase around the halls and vents, something that leads him to encountering a red tazelwurm that serves as the school's mascot, Lee is able to get back into the detention room just in time for Barrage to come back and dismiss both of them.
Even though he is unable to get the camera that shows he swapped his backpack, Lee was however able to grab a different camera there he hopes that might have the same results and taking the chip, 'cause the camera broke when he made it back, and plugging it inside. Heading back home, Lee sets up a map of the school on a bulletin board in his room and begins searching for the evidence he needs, eventually finding a picture that shows a hand grabbing his backpack, with this as just his first clue to find the culprit, Lee vows to himself that whatever happens, he's gonna find out who set him up and get his life back to normal.
Starting his search for the mastermind[]
After enhancing the picture of the hand who grabbed on his backpack and heading to school the next day, Lee sees that his first suspect is wearing a A. Nigma High championship football ring and has a scab on his mid-knuckle. Realizing that the scab could be gone by tomorrow Lee sneaks out of detention again and tries out for the football team so that he may check the players for scabs. Lee soon discovers that their water boy Ed is a kleptomaniac who stole the ring and a can of paint from Lee's bag. Securing the paint can and making it back to detention just in time to be dismissed, Lee places the can to his growing pile of evidence where he starts asking himself more questions on who really did it.
The following day, Lee discovers that a group of students known as the Skaters reveal they were responsible for the paint portion of the Prank and request instructions on more pranks from him. Unfortunately while busy with something else, Lee accidentally gives them the idea to rig the Student of the Week vote and dump paint on Barrage along with Tina and Chaz, not wanting his crush to hate him, Lee rushes to save her from being splattered but during the race he is once again confronted by Brandy who's requesting his help to get the the snobby leader of her clique, Kimmie McAddams, to be voted & in a desperate attempt to shut her up, reluctantly gives her the "first kiss" she got (unaware that someone snapped a picture of them doing it) and after another wild ride, manages to only get Chaz & Barrage splattered & make it back to detention just in time. Even though he didn't get the answer he's looking for, Lee was however able to learn that they got their orders from the prankster (with his name as cover) via email, and learns that his email name is Radcircles@ANigmahigh, and with a name, the detentionaire begins his discovery on the one who uses it.
During his newest investigation to see that if Irwin was the real prank mastermind, Lee has Holger spy on them but he is ultimately captured & is threatened by his ex-friend to come to him. Determined to save his pal, Lee confronts Irwin and the latter reveals that while he did send an email to the Skaters, and then some, it was a photoshopped image of himself and Lee to make it look like the latter was picking his nose. Though after going home Lee gets a message from Cam saying that the email account belongs to the missing principal, which leaves him even more confused.
Appearance[]
Lee is a young Asian teenager with black hair and a red coating on top of it, for clothing he wears dark green pants, a black shirt with a light blue coating on the neck hole, and a green polo over it.
On his left shoulder he has a blue tattoo which comes in the form of two rings and one incomplete one that is visible in the front, however this is soon revealed to be the cover (and a form of protection) of another tattoo which comes in the form of a scratch mark beneath it.
Personality[]
Lee is a loyal friend who is confident in his abilities. He will risk his safety to help his friends and knows that they would do the same for him. He is willing to put himself in danger if he believes that the risk is worth the reward, and is usually right in his assessment. Though normally easy-going by nature Lee is frequently bewildered by all the weirdness he encounters at A Nigma High but fiercely and unflinchingly determined to unravel the mysteries he gets involved in.
As noted by his friends and family, Lee is usually in a bad mood as a result of his determination to clear his name, and the stress it causes. This stress and justified paranoia has at times led him to jump to conclusions based on incomplete evidence, even going so far as to accuse his friends when suspicion falls on them. Although he is said to have previously been something of a loner before the start of the school year, Lee seems to have a knack for making friends.

Trivia[]
- Lee is often called often called "leaping" by others either as a form of insult or through language oversight.
- Lee's name in Chinese means "reason", which is best shown through his determination to find who actually did it.
- According to the creators, Lee skipped a grade when he was younger, however there is little to indicate this is the case in the series itself, as he celebrates his fifteenth birthday in one episode and is in the tenth grade rather than the eleventh (Tenth graders are either fifteen already or will be before December). However, another possibility is that Lee has both skipped and repeated a grade.
