The Legion of the Damned are mysterious protagonists in Warhammer 40k. Next to nothing is known about these spectral warriors wreathed in flames, only appearing in times of great crisis and desperation across the galaxy. When all hope seems lost on the battlefield, the Legion appears, utterly decimating any and all foes that dare stand before them, then, as quickly as they appeared, they disappear without a trace.
There are many different belief and theories as to who or what they are, with the primary ones among them being they are either fallen Space Marines given another chance to protect the Imperium and unleash their vengeance, are members of the lost Legion the Firehawks, or are daemons forged by The Emperor himself to protect humanity in their darkest hours.
Attributes[]
The Legion of the Damned are among the most powerful Astartes in the galaxy, seemingly incapable of being truly harmed and unleashing devastating hellfire from their weapons that is even more effective than standard Space Marine armaments. They advanced forward as an unstoppable tide of vengeance, appearing during crucial moments in war to bring Imperium forces from the brink of defeat to heroic victory. Nothing else is known about them, as after victory is achieved, they vanish.
