Lela is a major character of Nickelodeon's 35th non-theatrical feature film The Loud House Movie. She is a royal dragon of Loch Loud with ultimate authority in choosing who is worthy to be the Duke of Loch Loud.
She was voiced by an uncredited Jan Johns.
Personality[]
Lela is sweet and receptive to affection, as do most pets. She is also shown to have a big appetite and fondness for food, as shown when Lily offers her some of Lynn Sr.'s breakfast burritos.
However, her personality changes significantly under the influence of the Dragon Stone. While under its influence, Lela is unresponsive and uncaring of others' well-beings.
When Lela is released from the power of the Dragon Stone, she is shown to be regretful of her actions, which may indicate that while she commits these ruthless acts against her will, she is aware of what she does.
She has high authority in keeping the kingdom of Scotland safe as she banished Morag far away after learning her villainous nature with the Dragon Stone, which was destroyed for good.
Appearance[]
As a baby, Lela is a small dragon. She has teal scales, with her belly being a lighter shade of teal. She has two small pink horns on her head, pink spikes on her back, three small pink claws on each foot, and a pink heart-shaped scale on the end of her tail. The inside of her nose is also pink. She has two small wings on her back, and two ears with similar shapes to her wings. She also has a few small teeth pointing out from her mouth. She has three eyelashes on each eye.
Upon reaching her adult stage, she is now much larger. Lela's horns, claws, ears, and spikes grow longer. Her wings become much larger and grow a spike on each, and she now has more teeth protruding from her snout.
When under the influence of the Dragon Stone by Morag, her eyes glow purple and have an evil glare.
Biography[]
Past[]
Before the events of the movie, Lela had an ancestor named Lolo, the original dragon of the real Loch family, who likely laid eggs when the Louds came to the castle, but the current generation is unknown.
400 years ago, Lolo was mind-controlled against her will by Old Aggie, Morag's ancestor, successfully driving away the Duke and his family and thus leaving Loch Loud forever. After the tragic incident, Lela was born in the egg after Lolo had died of natural causes.
The Loud House Movie[]
400 years later, the Louds arrive at Scotland to stay for a vacation so they can meet their late ancestors. In one scene, Angus shows Lana, Lily, and Lynn why dragons are celebrated in Loch Loud and takes them into a dragon's cave where the egg was already hatched. The baby dragon immediately envelopes Angus in a fight cloud, and it immediately ends with the cute dragon showing its affection to Angus; the three Louds are awestruck by its cuteness, Lily choosing to name the dragon "Lela".
In the castle, the other Louds are also awestruck by Lela's cuteness, and Lisa is surprised by Lela's existence, saying it is "biologically improbable", but adorable nonetheless. At dinner, Lily feeds Lela some breakfast burritos, causing her to grow; this continues and Lela becomes a fully-grown dragon.
Later on in the film, Morag, deciding that she'll manipulate Lincoln into becoming her friend, has him ride a premature Lela into town in an act that immediately steals the attention from his sisters. However, this dragon ride takes a dark turn when Morag controls Lela's mind with the mystical Dragon Stone, causing Lincoln's ride to go horribly wrong, leveling a major damage of Loch Loud. After the chaos, Lela seems to feel bad for Lincoln after she is freed from the control.
With the Louds driven away, Morag enters the cave and feeds Lela some more food, thus completing her adult stage. As Morag was illegally crowned Duchess and being exposed by Angus, Morag controls a fully-grown Lela to drive everyone else out of Loch Loud. As the Louds return (thanks to Lucille, who witnessed her plan), Morag rides on Lela as she tries to stop the Louds, but falls into many chaotic antics so Lincoln can get onto Lela and destroy the Dragon Stone to free Lela from Morag's control.
In the courtyard of the castle, Morag almost kills Angus and the rest of the Louds as Lincoln steps forward and distracts her into being chased with the crown. As Lily appears to help her big brother, Lincoln uses his magic trick to "disappear" the gem for a burrito that was actually Lily's doing, disenchanting the dragon and allowing her to burn away the gem. Lela then saves Lincoln, Lily, and Morag as they fall off the cliff due to Morag's lust for power. After Lincoln and Lily were safely reunited by their family, Lela banishes Morag on an island filled with noisy seals as punishment for her crimes.
In the post credit images, Lela has laid more eggs and is now keeping a rescued Morag in line.
