Leo is the titular main protagonist of Netflix's 2023 animated feature film of the same name. He is a green tuatara who lives at Fort Myers Elementary School. When he learns he only has one year left to live, he plans to escape to experience life on the outside but instead gets caught up in the problems of his anxious students, including an impossibly mean substitute teacher. It ends up being the strangest but most rewarding bucket list ever.

He is a blue-green tuatara with a lime-green face and underbelly, and yellow stripes. He also has subtle sparse brown spots, hazel-green eyes, and he has a long tongue.

Trivia[]
- In the film, Leo is depicted with a long, projectile tongue similar to a chameleon. Real tuataras other hand lack this trait, and aren't lizards in real life being a bit different.
- When Leo is in the forest, he meets other tuaturas there, despite the fact tuataras are only indigenous to New Zealand, and the movie takes place in Florida. This possibly implies they were abandoned there as well.
