~ Levias |
Levias is the recurring character who first appeared in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. He is the Great Spirit of the Sky who was appointed by Hylia to protect the skies and was given a part of "The Song of the Hero", which opens the way to the final trial for the chosen hero before she reincarnates as a Hylian girl to carry out the task of preventing Demise's return. He is often referred to as the living encyclopedia; the source of all wisdom and knows of the hint of the location of the Triforce and is revealed to love the taste of Pumpkin Soup.
Biography[]
Sometime before Hylia reincarnates, she gives Levias the position of Guardian of the Sky and gave him one of the four parts of The Song of the Hero whereas the other three parts are taught to the Dragons of the Land to teach them to her chosen hero and made other preparations for Demise's inevitable return. Each year, he is offered a giant batch of Pumpkin Soup offered on the sky isle with an everlasting rainbow over it. However, at an unknown point in time, the Thunderhead cloud covers the northwestern location in the sky, preventing anyone from approaching and Levias became possessed by Bilocyte, going from a wise gentle spirit to a violent and aggressive monster who does not listen to reason.
After Zelda goes into a crystallized sleep to maintain the seal on Demise until Link finds a way to permanently destroy him, Impa tells the hero that he must seek Levias on the whereabouts of the sacred Triforce. Unsure where Levias is at, Link inquires of Headmaster Gaepora about him and then speaks to Owlan, who witnessed Levias's strange behavior and spontaneously agrees to teach Link the Spiral Charge while riding his Crimson Loftwing despite how only more experienced Loftwing riders can perform this dangerous move. After Link masters the Spiral Charge, Owlan sends him to Pumm's Lumpy Pumpkin to pick up a huge batch of Pumpkin Soup to bring to Levias on the rainbow sky isle, which LD-301S Scrapper must carry on their journey there.
After Scrapper drops off the soup at its destination, Levias appears, and he wasn't acting himself. Link boards his Loftwing to pursue him, destroying the parasites that trail from his body, before facing Bilocyte itself emerging from the sky spirit's blowhole. After Bilocyte is destroyed, the Thunderhead abates, and Levias snaps out of his trance and thanks Link for helping him out and apologizes for his earlier actions. When told that he wishes to learn "The Song of the Hero", Levias tells him that he knows of a part, but he won't share it with him until he learns the other three songs from the dragons, Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru, who each inhabit three of the regions on the Surface. After Link tracks down all of them, Levias then gives him his part of "The Song of the Hero" and the Dragons of the Land sing along as Link listens in bliss.
