Liebe is a major supporting character of the Black Clover franchise. He is the devil residing in Asta's grimoire and the source of his anti-magic powers. Despite wanting to possess Asta in order to take revenge against the devils for mocking and exiling him from the underworld, Liebe eventually saw Asta as a brother-figure after realizing he's Licita's son.
He is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto in Japanese, and Bryce Papenbrook in English, both of whom also voice Rin Okumura in Blue Exorcist. In his shadow form, he's voiced by Kenichiro Matsuda in Japanese who also voiced Gordon Agrippa, and Cis George in English.
Appearance[]
Liebe is a devil who's on the shorter side compared to other devil. He resembles Asta as both are short and have spikey white hair. However, Liebe is different as his body is coated in darkness. He eyes consist of red pupils and black scleras, with two lines on his face going over them. His right arm has red crevasses in it and is slightly buffer than his left one as it's the one he took from Asta.

Liebe used to be a devil residing in the top level of the underworld, where the weakest demons reside. He spent most of his existence being bullied by other devils due to his lack of magical abilities, to the point that the devils accidentally banished him by throwing him onto the gate of the underworld, which Liebe passed through due to his lack of magic.
After arriving at the Clover Kingdom, he gets into a fight with Magic Knights which he barely escapes from. After being exhausted from their fight, he ends up in front of Lichita's home, who readily adopts him as her son.
After several weeks, Lucifero, the top-ranked devil decided to enter the Human realm and found Liebe, who tried to forcibly possess him to take over the realm. Lichita restrained him due to her magic abilities, which he overcame by stabbing her. Using the last of her life, Lichita sent Liebe into the 5-leaf grimoire she found (belonging to the original Licht) to save him as she dies from her injuries.
Horrified by the turn of the events, Liebe's desire for vengeance spiked even higher as he spent every second screaming vengeance on the devils.
Black Clover[]
Eventually, by fate, Licht's grimoire eventually fell into the possession of Asta, Licita's son. Due to Asta also not being able to possess mana, Liebe decided to take over his body.
