Lieutenant Hip is the tritagonist of 007’s movie The Man with the Golden Gun. He is a fictional intelligence operative employed by the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS/MI6) and Nara and Cha’s uncle, in video game he is called Chong Sun Hip.
He was played by Soon-Tek Oh.
History[]
Hip first appears when Bond arrives at the Bottoms Up Club, to talk to Gibson about the solex agitator, which is 95% efficient. After the party at the Bottoms Club, Gibson is killed by Francisco Scaramanga and after Hip manages to find the solex agitator, he has Bond arrested by taking him to the station.
Bond becomes suspicious after getting on a boat with Hip and as they pass by a sunken ship, Bond takes the opportunity to escape, later discovering that the sunken ship was MI6 base of operations in Hong Kong and is shown with great embarrassment in front of his new colleague from M at a briefing.
Later, after Bond has clarified a few things with Lieutenant Hip, he shows him where Hai Fat's mansion is and informs him of the security it is there.
Later, Hip sings his nieces Nara and Cha to Hai Fat Academy to help Bond fight the academy's martial arts students. Then again, after Bond meets Andrea Andres who owns the solex shaker, Hip arrives disguised as a peanut salesman so that Bond can take the solex shaker and deliver it to Hip so that he can keep him safe.
Lieutenant Hip is seen for the last time in the last briefing with M.
