| ~ Liko |
Liko is the main protagonist of Pokémon Horizons: The Series.
She is a Pokémon Trainer from Cabo Poco whose goal is to understand Pokémon better. She owned a mysterious pendant that was given to her by her grandmother and was later revealed to be a hibernating Terapagos. Her first Pokémon was a Sprigatito that she received at Indigo Academy. Liko also becomes a member of the Rising Volt Tacklers.
She is voiced by Minori Suzuki in the Japanese version and Alejandra Reynoso in the English Dub.
Appearance[]
Liko is a beautiful young girl with dark blue hair with a blue hue underneath clipped with a green hair clip, blue eyes and fair skin. She wears a green hexagonal pendant around her neck.
At Indigo Academy, Liko's uniform consists of a short brown blazer, brown skirt, a white dress shirt, a red ribbon, white knee-high socks and brown loafers.
Whilst travelling with the Rising Volt Tacklers, she wears a turquoise jacket over a white top and dark blue shorts, a yellow crossover bag, white and blue socks and shoes.
In the Post-Timeskip season, Liko swaps out her turquoise jacket with a hooded pull over with a heart embroidery on the front pocket, a black under shirt, white shorts and white running shoes.
Personality[]
Liko is a shy, polite and introverted girl who doesn't do well in stressful situations. She seems to be studious when it comes to learning about how to build a bond with Pokémon and is willing to pass curfew to do so. During the night, Liko often writes down what happens during her day in her diary, that includes her drawing in it. Among other students, Liko is a big fan of Nidothing and watches its videos to help her be a Pokémon Trainer.
While she is mostly shy around people, this is not the case with Pokémon, caring about them and prioritizing their safety. Liko has also shown a reckless side as well, as seen when she was willing to jump off the roof of her school in order to escape the Explorers. Liko has been shown to be cautious of trusting others, as she quickly deduced that the Explorers were up to no good and was unsure about the Rising Volt Tacklers since Friede took her to his airship without giving her any information. However, after the Rising Volt Tacklers helped her rescue Sprigatito from the Explorers, Liko decided to fully trust them and became a member of their team.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
A young Liko with her mother.
Liko was born in the Kanto region though she moved to Paldea region where she grew up in Cabo Poco alongside her parents, Alex and Lucca, as well as her grandmother, Diana, was also an important part of her childhood as she would often tell her stories of the adventures and journeys she went through around the world. At some point during her younger years Liko was given a mysterious pendant by her grandmother, which would prove to be life-changing for her sometime in her future.
Pokemon Horizons[]

At the start of the first episode "The Pendant that started it all", Liko had been accepted and begun packing up as had decided to enroll in Indigo Academy at the Kanto region, where she formed a friendship with her roommate Ann and received her first Pokémon, a grass-type starter from Paldea called a Sprigatito. In the following few days after moving into the academy, Liko worked hard to strengthen her bond with Sprigatito by learning more about it and make it listen to her instructions in battle, but to little avail.
[[File:S26e1 Quietly escaping from danger.jpg|thumb|left|230px|Liko quietly escaping the dangerous people.] However, that all changes when one day during a school break, she is approached by a young man named Amethio who introduced himself supposedly as a representative for her grandmother with a letter to her that supposedly says she wants to meet with her & asked her for the pendant. Secretly once night fell Liko immediately knew that her grandmother would never usually send her letters knew that she couldn't trust the guy when she mentioned the pendant, so to ensure it doesn't get anymore intense she snuck out of her dorm room before Amethio could come in.
Liko before she discovers something amazing.
Quietly crawling out onto the roof, Liko soon learns that there are more people searching for her as well and despite doing her best to stay quiet, she gets spotted as she reaches the ground as a man named Zirc confronts her and calls out his Rhydon, since Sprigatito isn't strong enough to fight Rhydon, Liko instead has her blind Rhydon with Leafage and then use her relaxing scent to put it to sleep and they continue escaping. However, they are soon caught once more but before any violent confrontation could begin, a man swooped in on his Charizard and started battling Amethio's Ceruledge. A stray Psycho Cut nearly hit Liko as she tried to escape, but her pendant activated in time and protected her from the attack.
In the next episode, Liko noticed the presence of a mysterious Pokémon during the activation of the pendant's power. After being rescued by Friede, Liko and Sprigatito were taken aboard his airship, the Brave Olivine, where they were introduced to the Rising Volt Tacklers. Not long after, the ship was attacked by the Explorers, who almost coerced Liko to go with them, had Sprigatito not encouraged her to stand tall. Liko had the Grass Cat Pokémon unleash a Leafage strong enough to break the forcefield around the Wing Deck, but it got blown overboard in the process, which allowed the Explorers to capture it before fleeing.

Trivia[]
- Liko, along with Roy, Dot and their Pokémon, currently take over the role from Ash Ketchum and Pikachu even though it’s presumed to be temporary.
- There was a popularly fan theory that Liko is Ash and Serena's daughter, as Liko's hairpin bears a resemblance to the Pokémon League logo featured on Ash's hat in the original series and on the shoes that were given to him by his mom. Additionally, Liko has the same eye color as Serena. However, this theory has since been debunked and proven false after the episode in which her father Alex had debuted in.
- Her Trainer ID is 230414.
- Her hair clip is the same of Ash's in Ash's final episode in Pokémon Journeys.
- Liko is the second female Pokémon trainer to have a Grass-type starter, after May.
- However, since Meowscarada is the Gen IX Grass starter and Liko debut in Horizons which is the Gen IX anime, it makes it the first time a female main protagonist owns a current generation Grass starter.
- Meowscarada was given to Liko in response to the universally hated and overused concepts of unevolved Grass starter mascots (Ash's Bulbasaur, Bayleef, Snivy, and Rowlet, Clemont's Chespin, and Goh's Grookey), the fact that only male main protagonists got the current generation Grass starters up until Horizons (May's Venusaur was used for promoting FireRed LeafGreen) and the fact that Ash owned six Grass starters.
