Linna Yamazaki is a member of the Knight Sabers, the protagonists of Bubblegum Crisis.

She was voiced by Michie Tomizawa in the Japanese version, and by Elizabeth Becka in the English version.

Original

Linna is an aerobics instructor that originally had dreams of being a dancer. When she failed her audition, Sylia approached her, offering Linna a place on the Knight Sabers team.

In episode 2, Linna found out that a girl named Irene who was in one of her classes had a grudge against Genom. Linna talked to her about it, finding out that her fiancee was killed in a boomer experiment. At that moment, one of Genom's boomer assassins killed Irene. Linna and the others then went after her, successfully avenging Irene's death after fighting Genom's newest brand of boomer.

A year later, Linna met with Irene's sister Reika. Linna found out that Irene and Reika were part of a Chinese crime family that were plaaning an assassination on one of Genom's investors. Linna got to her in time to tell her that her vendetta against Genom was eating away at her and that she should resume her old life.

2040 Version

Linna's character is heavily reimagined in the 2040 version. Linna was originally a farm girl who moved to Tokyo. She didn't become a Knight Saber until episode 3, her reason ebing that she hates her job and craves excitement.

Linna is initiated into the Knight Sabers, only to find herself buying more than she bargained for as her hardsuit loses power in the middle of a boomer attack. Priss saves her life, which leaves Linna feeling inferior. She later tells Priss that her goal is to replace her as the team's alpha female.

It's inferred on several occasions that Linna might be a lesbian, due to the fact that she's the only Knight Saber who doesn't show any interest in men and she seems to have a mild fixation on Priss. In one episode her parents try to set her up with a potential husband but Linna's doesn't seem to have any feelings for him.
