Lino is the titular main protagonist of the brazillian feautred film "Lino"and the main protagonist of the animated series of the same name.
appearence[]
in his human form,lino is a tall man with brown haird combed upwards,a large nose and a brownish-green eyes,he wears a gray blouse with a green yellow striped t-shirt on top,blue jeans and black shoes with white details.
in his animalistic form,lino accidentaly transforms into a giant antropomorphic cat,which has a red fur with yellow details,emerald green eyes,pink finger nails and a blue tongue.
personality[]
throughout the film,lino presents a somewhat shy and pessimistic personality,because at the same time that he has difficult in socializing with other people,he also doesn't have much confidence in what he does and always ends up getting in trouble.
at some points in the film,lino always displays grumpy and often childish behavior.He gets irritated and complains when things go wrong for him or simply make comments in a mocking and sarcastic tone.

since the day of his birth,lino was the unluckiest person on planet earth,because for some reason everything went go wrong for him.
besides being rejected by other people,he was constantly tortured and humiliated by bullies led by his old classmate victor,during his adult life it was no different,as he was hired as entertainer at children's parties which in addition to being humiliating,did not give him any profit.
his routine consisted of waking up,being mistreated by the children,being bullied by the other employees and getting scared by the boy who handed out pamphlets,one day,while returning to work,he ends being evicted for owing fourteen months of unpaid rent and with no alternative,he ends up living with his next door neighbor victor who uses his costume to commit crimes.
the next day lino goes to the office of a sorcerer named don leon who promises to make all his problems disappear with the help of an magical spell,after passing on the instructions and ingredients,lino goes to work to perform the ritual and he ends up merging with his cat costume.
initially,people think lino's new look is amazing,but after seeing the tv news reporting on the "costumed maniac"everyone ends up mistaking him for the bad guy and threatens to call the police.
lino hides in an alley and ends up accidentally rescuing a little girl who fell out of a window at an orphanage,lino then goes to don leon's house to get satisfaction and the two discover that the spell didn't work because the page of the book was torn.
don leon then has the idea of going to talk to henry topper,his former mentor at the school of magic where he studied and with an ice cream truck they managed to escape the police and go to the school of wizards.
when they arrive at the place they are barred from entering because don leon was terrible student who in addition to skipping classes to do other activities like playing pool and watching soap operas,also made the teachers's live hell.
and then don leon has the idea of breaking into the school and stealing a red book that had all the cures for all the curses,in the middle of the night execute the plan,but the wizard students tries to stop them.
but they managed to escape and flee to the forest where they discover that they need three ingredients to perform a ritual to reverse the spell(an indigenous headpress,a blue sapphire and a platypuss egg)then the three go to a indigenous reservation to get the first indredient.
upon arriving at the location,they managed to get the chief's headdress,but don leon ends up getting distracted by a dance video game which causes him to be discovered by the other indians.
in an attempt to avoid being killed by the savages,don leon challenges the trible's chief to a dance duel and he accepts,after a while,don leon ends up winning the duel.
however,the chief does not accept losing and with a bow and arrow he tries to kill don leon,but lino arrives and scare the idians giving them the opportunity to escape with the idian headdress.
later that night the three go to the zoo to get a platypus' egg,but because they don't know which sector the platypuses are in,the trio ends up separates to searchs the egg,while don leon tries to save the baby who ends up being captured by the monkeys,lino manages to get the egg but ends up being caught by the zoo employees.
the next morning the trio returns to the city to pick up a blue sapphire from the museum,but the property was closed for repairs and frustrated lino decides to turn himself in to the police,however,don leon remembers that he had a sapphire in his turban that he received as a gift from his grandmother and this makes lino very happy.
but they are quickly discovered by the police and the trio flees to a hill in the desert to begin the ritual,lino then puts on the indigenous headdress,swallows the yolk of the platypus egg and rubs his eyes threes times towards the sun (even if a solar eclipse is happening)while the light of the blue sapphire cover his face.
with the ritual completed,lino returns to normal and finally gets rid of his disgusting cat costume,which makes the baby girl very sad,as she liked lino as a cat,lino finally found a child who liked him wearing the cat costume and he decided never to take it off again.
but before they can return home,lino is arrested by officer janine and her two assistants osmar and melos,while the baby girl is taken away from his hands,lino tries to explain that he is not the real thief but janine does not believe in his words and show him the photo evidences.
when analyzing the photos,lino realizes that the costumed thief has a heart tattoo on his butt and he remembers that his neighbour victor also had the same tatto,lino then takes the police to victor's apartment,but he already disappeared along with his girlfriend patty.
fortunately they discovered through melos that victor intends to take patty's father's private jet to escape to las vegas,so they go to the airport to stop victor from escaping.
when they arrived at the plane,victor tried to escape but lino managed to blind him with his cat costume and osmar and melos managed to arrest him,some time later,lino marries janine and adopts the baby,who he names juliana,with his new family,he opens a restaurant themed after his cat costume called "lino buffet".

some time later,lino is accidentally transformed into a giant cat by don leon again and with the help of his now grown daughter juliana,he tries to adapt to his new life while trying to escape the traps and evil schemes of the mad scientist dr. villani (that lino calls him "Doctor peruca").

- lino's costume was originally planned to be a blue rabbit,but to avoid copyright issues,the creators changed it to a red cat.
- lino's pessimistic and unlucky personality seems to have been inspired by Stanley Ipkiss's from the movie the mask and by Peter Banning from the movie hook.
