Liu Zhigang is a supporting character in the Korean fantasy manhwa and light novel series Solo Leveling. He is one of the five National Level Hunters, the second strongest known hunter in the world, the top-ranking hunter of China, as well as the one of the vessels of the Rulers.

Appearance[]

Zhigang is a handsome young Chinese man with lengthu black hair tied in a ponytail leaving several long locks at above his face. His eyes are frequently glowing in a golden color. His usual attire is usually a black suit with a black necktie over a red shirt. His casual outfit is a also a tan-colored coat over a white suit.

Personality[]

Zhigang is a conceited and cocksure man holding thirst for a great challenges to fight deadly opponents. In practice, he exhibited his unsatisfaction over the fact that he was not present during the Jeju Island raid to get a chance to fight Ant King, unfazed by the danger he could be facing, despite the several death that the beast took. He expresses his straightforwardness in dialogue, evident in his statement to a Chinese newsman affirming that hunter Sung Jinwoo's superiority in strength, disregarding dissenters as foolish. Despite, holding very little respects for many around him, yet, he portrays friendliness and humility towards individuals who earn his admiration.

Jeju Island Arc[]

Following the Jeju Island Raid, Zhigang engaged in safeguarding the eastern coast of China, where he could been seen to effortlessly dispatching countless of ants with a single decisive blow.

Japan Crisis Arc[]

News spread about a colossal magical beast having made his appearance from the Tokyo S-Rank Gate venturing across the sea toward China. Zhigang swiftly intercepted and dispatched the creature along the Chinese shoreline prior it could have aproached to attack. Despite Zhigang's proficiency, he found himself somewhat taken aback by the giant's might, observing Jinwoo's ability to handle such foes with greater ease. Intrigued, Zhigang sought out information on Jinwoo from the Korean Hunters Association, requesting all available public records on him.

International Guild Conference Arc[]

Being the top hunter ofhis country, Zhigang attented the international conference of the International Guild, where among the many strongest, he learns that Jinwoo's father Sung II-Hwang killed his fellow National Level Hunter Christopher Reed. Subsquently, he greeted Jinwoo by shaking his hand and commended him on his triumph in his battle over another National Level Hunter Thomas Andre.

Final Battle Arc[]

Zhigang is present in the vast battle against the Monarchs where he leads a large army of hunters from his country. However, he is shocked by the size of Jinwoo's shadow army surpassing his. Later admist of the war, he beheads a giant and comments the beasts' power being nothing for him. He then stand on top of a building while thinking of the ongoing war and of the alarming mana that comes from Jinwoo and Antares who are fighting each other, commenting the beginning of their battle.
