Col. Lloyd Venture is the posthumous overarching protagonist in The Venture Bros. He was the father of Jonas Venture and great-grandfather to the Venture Bros., Dean and Hank. He was a member of the original Guild, which would later evolve into the modern The Guild of Calamitous Intent.

Sandow, his bodyguard, intimated that he killed Venture when the Colonel attempted to use the power of the Orb. In truth, his bodyguard broke the Orb. Lloyd was furious at this until he learned the original orders were to kill him. Calling it even, the two resolved never to talk of the event to anyone.

Dr. Venture thinks Lloyd's father was a milliner.

Lloyd is very possibly the grandfather who zoned Rusty's estate for "The care and upkeep of American rightness and the active defense of her civil needs."
