Lloyd de Saloum is the titular main protagonist of the webnovel, manga, and anime series I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince so I Can Take My Time Perfecting My Magical Ability. As the title implies, he was reborn as the 7th Prince of the Saloum Kingdom and developped an obsession over magic. In his previous life, he was an ordinary peasant killed by a cruel magic user. Regardless of possessing relatively low magic powers, he alike his reincarnation has immense passion for magic.
In his reincarnation, he is voiced by Makoto Koichi and by Meg McClain in Japanese, and by Meg McClain in his reincarnation, and by Travis Mullenix in English.
Appearance[]
Lloyd is an androgynous petite boy with blue hair (brown in the novel and manga) and blue and cyan-colored eyes (brown in the novel). His hair is typically attached in a short ponytail with a ribbon at the back. His typical attire is a pale cyan-colored overall with tight white sleeves and a collar. His legs wear long white socks and a pair of navy-colored shoes.
Personality[]
Lloyd has a deep passion to research and master all form of magics. He is utterly fixated on the arcane. However, beyond the realm of magic, his curiosity fizzles. Though he seems detached, his gaze misses nothing, a silent sentinel in the midst of chaos. Beyond the realm of magic, Lloyd's interest wanes, displaying a nonchalant demeanor towards most facets of life. His disdain for monotony manifests when devoid of magical pursuits, driving him to extreme lengths, even resorting to erasing his own memories to relive the joy of discovery anew. Despite his seemingly indifferent facade, Lloyd's keen observation skills belie his detached exterior, never failing to perceive the minutiae of his surroundings. Haunted by a sense of incongruity stemming from possessing the intellect of an adult within a youthful vessel, Lloyd's past is marked by an act of defiance, symbolized by his refusal of maternal nourishment during infancy. His loyalty extends to those in his inner circle, demonstrating unwavering support and assistance, whether overtly or covertly. Particular in his culinary preferences, Lloyd exhibits discerning taste, favoring dishes crafted by a select few, with pudding holding a place of honor among his culinary delights.
His single-minded obsession on magic can make him appear aloof about everything else, with him often displaying essentially psychotic expressions when particularly engaged, but he does wish to protect his friends and kingdom. His focus on magic can often endanger those close to him, however, it isn't just due to his obsession, but also because he has faith in their own capabilities.
While his primary passion is on magic, he does hold respect and admiration for any talent if it is achieved a high level and was reached through hard work; his reverence for hard work is reinforced when facing high level demons, since after his awe of any unique abilities they have passes, he becomes disinterested and annoyed at the demon's purely instinctual powers - both from his respect for effort being insulted, and the demon lacking any artistry in their mindless usage.
One challenge Lloyd holds is one that is more of an issue for others, which is he completely forgets people and concepts that fail to be interesting; although even some with notable talent, if it is unrelated to magic, his memory of them fades with absence, but can be reminded during a reunion. Despite Lloyd's obsessions, he often displays a sincere compassion that endears people to him, with some even developing feelings for him - although, they understand his disinterest in non-magic, so are willing to wait for if or when he grows attention to intimate relationships.
Due to being a reincarnation, Lloyd has the mind of an adult man, however, he still displays traits more befitting his now child self, such as lacking shame or embarrassment for his own nudity, disinterest in attractive bodies, childlike distractability, and innocent enthusiasm for his passions; he also seems oblivious to the romantic affections that he draws, although it could be more willful ignorance. Despite his seeming indifference to nudity, when a baby, his adult mind made him too bashful to be fed by any midwife, rather could only feed via bottle, thus indicating that he did have a concept of shame, at least in that regard. While it is connected to his desire to spend as much time as possible researching magic, he shows strong reluctance to chores, and almost bratty irritation if he is forced to follow royal protocols that he deems dull. Not to the level of his sister, but he is quite fond of fluffy animals, hence why his familiars are shaped into adorable forms, even if a demon or angel.
He avoids revealing his true potential to the general public, most of his family, nobles, or anyone involved in regal issues, since he understands that he would be forced into the race for the royal chain of succession, and he lacks interest in politics, beyond wanting the world to be peaceful so he can be free to study magic. He is willing to share a glimpse or even a lot of his power to allies he becomes close with, but only if they are uninvolved in royal issues; some people he trusts the most, he won't confide it due to believing they will expect more direct activity in royal protocols, however, despite his best efforts (or loss of control from the thrill of magic), some discover the truth themselves but won't expose him to wanting to respect his wishes, or in the case of his brother Albert, certainty that Lloyd would be the best king, so keeps the secret yet also developing connections to ascend the Seventh Prince to the throne.

The only exception is swordsmanship, which he doesn't enjoy, but due to Sylpha's insistence of frequent sparring and her near-limitless strength, he has to remember to maintain the facade of learning.
- Memory Erasure: While he has a photographic memory, it isn't immune to his own spells, in that he may choose to erase memories as to experience the pleasure of learning more than once.

- Correcting Blighted: When someone is born with a unique power that they don't know how to or can't control properly, they are called Blighted. However, Lloyd is able of tattooing an enchantment that allows them full mastery of their unique magic powers.
- Potential Invulnerability: Sylpha felt bored as nothing could challenge or surprise her, but when she first saw Lloyd, she determined that no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't cut him, which is notable since she could imagine cutting everything and everyone else in the world.

- Excessive Singular Magic Usage: It wasn't an issue until Lloyd cast a spell with so many parameters and immense use of mana that his mana gates - the things within all sorcerers that dictate flow of magic - were broken open, and remain open as long as the spell continues to be active. It didn't weaken him, rather made him lose perfect control, thus can't cast another spell without risk of possibly cataclysmic destruction.
Trivia[]
- When Lloyd first met Tao in indulging his curiosity about dungeons, to avoid being recognised and thus exposed as being absent from the Saloum castle, he combined the appearances of himself and his brother, Albert. Due to time restraints, the only alias he could think of was a combination of their names, making "Llobert," which is changed to "Robert" because of the trait in Asian dialogues that has no distinction between L and R.
