Lola Mbolắ is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Gus Turner) of Robotboy. She was voiced by Laurence Bouvard.

Overview[]

She is a physically capable and highly intelligent ten-year-old girl, who has a crush on her lifelong friend Tommy. She has appeared in over 50 episodes.

Biography[]

She is first seen in "War and Pieces". In the episode "Valentine's Day", she is tricked by Kamikaze when he leaves a letter from Tommy in her locker, saying that he found out that she loves him and he loves her back, though she falls for the trap and is captured by Dr. Kamikaze. Tommy discovers this and manages to save her, with Robotboy's help, and she kisses him.

In the next episode "Fight", she and Gus witness Tommy single-handedly beat up three of the school's older bullies, one of which being the boyfriend of Bambi, Lola's nemesis; Tommy has a crush on Bambi due to her looks and usage of make-up, but Bambi just bullies him in return, causing Lola to dispise her.

In "Feline Frenzy", she is shown to have a pet cat called Princess, who falls victim to one of Kamikaze's plans, turning the cat into a large mutant, causing Lola great distress, especially when her father refuses to help her. However, she eventually finds her cat and returns her to normal.

Later on, in "Up a Tree", she hangs out with Tommy and Gus in Robotboy's high-tech treehouse, though instead of playing video games and reading comics, she opts to instead style her hair with lots of different products, and excercise by playing Dance Dance Revolution.

Appearance[]

She is a young black girl with a dark complexion and blue eyes, which is a rare phenomenon/mutation. She wears her long, black hair in an odango-style, with light blue tube ties holding them in place, and a fringe facing forward, with hair strands on each side. She wears a light blue halter dress, a white belt around her waist, and white knee-high go-go boots.

In "Halloween", she wears a large pink cowboy hat and a dark pink cowgirl dress with a belt, and she dual-wields two toy revolvers, for which she wears holsters. In "Bowling for Dummies", she wears a maroon polo shirt, a small white skirt, blue bowling shoes, knee-high white socks, and maroon tube ties in place of her usual blue ones.

Trivia[]

  • Her hairstyle is somewhat similar to Sailor Moon's hairstyle.
  • She gets mad at Tommy in "Bambi Bot" and "The Tune Up" for ignoring her, but they eventually reconcile.
  • In her "Robotboy - Special Edition CD-ROM" character profile and in some artworks, she's shown with pink lips.
  • She has kissed Tommy twice; on his cheek in "Kamikazi Nightmare", and on the lips in "Valentine's Day", for being rescued by him and Robotboy.
  • She is the only one of the main characters to never have faced Felonious Hexx, since she has never been told about him. She has never faced General Yakitori either, but she does mention him on the episode "Gus's Mix", which shows a possibility that Tommy had told her about him off-screen. She has also never confronted Bjorn Bjornson, but she did him in the episode "Brother Bjorn", when he was the kids' classmate for a day.
  • Only Lola's father was shown in the show itself, and it's currently unknown where her mother Titi is. However, she can be found on a special paper sheet from the Robotboy promo site and disc, in the series bible and can also can be found in the background (alongside Ambassador Mbola) in a CN City promo where the gang throws balls at the dunk tank to dunk Dr. Kamikazi. Moreover, in Lola's "Robotboy - Special Edition CD-ROM" character profile, it states that her parents are often jet-setting around the world, confirming her mother's existence.
