Lucius "Hanno" Verus is a supporting character in the 2000 action biography movie Gladiator and the titular main protagonist in its 2024 sequel Gladiator II.
He is portrayed by Spencer Treat Clark as a child in the first film and Paul Mescal as an adult in the sequel Gladiator II.

- In II he is similar to his father from the first film:
- Soldiers forced into slavery and became gladiators
- Lost a loved one (Maximus his wife and son; Lucius his wife Arishat)
- Have periodic visions of their family in the afterlife they believed in
- Seek vengeance on a prominent Roman authority figure (Commodus; Acacius, though abandoned)
- Are invited to help overthrow a tyrant, initially refused, but ultimately agree and become its leading revolutionary figure

- There were hints that Lucius is Maximus' son:
- Before fighting began, they had the habit of grabbing a handful of the battlefield's soil to better understand the environment

- When enslaved, they are highly reluctant to fight as a gladiator, but were eventually forced to, displaying far greater than average skill that impressed a prominent slaver, who was once a gladiator themselves
