Luke begins as quiet, emotionally withdrawn, and guilt-ridden after his friend's murder. Over the course of the film, he evolves into a courageous survivor who confronts both supernatural and emotional fear.

Backstory[]
Luke witnesses his friend Rob’s murder during a robbery and is paralyzed by fear, failing to act. This becomes the root of his emotional trauma.
In The Ritual[]
Luke is one of four friends who go on a hiking trip to the woods, where they encounter a mysterious, monstrous creature called the Jötunn. Luke's character arc involves grappling with survivor's guilt after witnessing the death of his friend Robert. He also faces the creature in a climactic confrontation, ultimately managing to escape the forest.
