“ | My parents have suffered throughout their lives due to their nobility. Due to my own Crests, I've never been able to live a normal life. I'm sick of nobility and Crests—of all of it! It sounds as if it's truly your mission to change things. I'll pledge my life to your cause, however short it may be. | „ |
~ Lysithea claiming her disgust for nobility and Crests to Edelgard |

She is voiced by Aoi Yuki in Japanese and Janice Roman Roku in English.
Biography[]
Past[]
Lysithea is the eldest daughter and heir to the Ordelia family. When she was two years old, her family was punished by the Adrestian Empire for their role in House Hyrm's rebellion. She is a talented magic prodigy at an early age.
In retaliation for House Ordelia's request for aid, the Empire temporarily controlled the family, and the Alliance turned a blind eye to avoid confrontation. The Empire killed key members of the Ordelia family and replaced them with royal officials. Some of the officials were mages from Those Who Slither in the Dark, who then imprisoned Ordelia children and began experimenting with Crests on them. Lysithea's parents were unable to stop them and were forced to watch their children die one by one.
Lysithea was the sole survivor of the Crest experiments. As a result of the experiments, Lysithea had two Crests. Due to this, her hair turned white and her lifespan was greatly shortened. Because of her severed life and the pain her family had endured, Lysithea decided to end her misfortune. After completing her education and ensuring that her parents could live comfortably and peacefully, she refrained from having children and planned to dismantle House Ordelia.
Verdant Wind[]
Lysithea reunited with her classmates in Chapter 13, defeating the bandits near Garreg Mach with Marianne and Raphael. After the battle, she decided to fight against the Empire with Byleth and Claude to avenge the suffering she and her family suffered in the hands of the Empire in the aftermath of the Hrym Rebellion. She also hopes that the fall of the Empire will finally bring her parents peacekeeping Fódlan.
During chapter 17, Lysithea finds strange masked mages in black among the ranks of the Imperial Army. The evening after the battle, she approached Byleth and Claude and told them about her family's history of the Empire and the blood experiments they conducted on her and her dead relatives, warning them to guard against their terrifying knowledge and strength while the Alliance prepare to advance.Into the depths of the Imperial family.
She learns of the existence of Those Who Slither in the Dark after Chapter 20, identifying them as those who used them for their blood tests, and assumes Edelgard was one of their victims. She approaches the final battle with Those Who Slither in the Dark, and tries to erase them from doing to anyone else what they have done to her, her dead relatives, and Edelgard.
Crimson Flower[]
If Lysithea was recruited to the Black Eagle Strike Force, she supports Edelgard's idea of abolishing the hated Crest system. But she's worried about having to face Claude because he's a good man and she knows he's just trying to protect the Alliance.
If Lysithea had not previously been recruited, she could be seen in Chapter 14 and killed in battle, but it is entirely possible to save her from the arrival of the Alymryan Navy by defeating Claude.
If she were defeated by Byleth or Balthus, there would be an option to recruit her or kill her. If spared, Lysithea will thank Byleth for giving her a second chance. If killed, Lysithea will apologize to her parents before she dies.
Azure Moon[]
If Lysithea is recruited to Blue Lions, she will join Byleth and Dimitri at the start of Chapter 14. She believes Dimitri's obsession with Edelgard is convenient in destroying the Empire as soon as possible, despite her indifference to the kingdom or anxiety about the battle of revenge-ridden Dimitri, but joins the army to eliminate the threat the Empire poses to her parents.
If Lysithea was not recruited at the Academy Phase, she would appear with her classmates in Chapter 17, and she might die during a three-way attack between the three houses. If that happens, Claude will mourn her death, saying that she burned too brightly, and faded too fast.

Quotes[]
“ | Claude: As you can see, if we were to face an enemy on this terrain, I would go here...and you would go here. Lysithea: Hang on... If we're trying to repel the enemy, I should be positioned there, correct? Claude: Huh? I'm not sure that's the best idea. Take a closer look at this map. See, there's a graveyard over here. Might run into some of those GHOSTS you hate so much! Lysithea: CLAUDE! Will you knock it off already?! So help me, if you continue treating me like a child, I'll-- Claude: EASY THERE! I'm sorry, OK? Just don't start blasting off any spells in here. |

“ | Lysithea: Has your hair always been that color, by the way? Edelgard: Huh?! Lysithea: I ask because mine wasn't always this color. I lost all pigment after receiving my two Crests. Edelgard, I want a world where people like you and I are no longer victimized. I want you to bring that world into being. If it's within me to help that come to pass, then I'll do whatever it takes. Edelgard: Understood. I promise to do all I can to see this goal to fruition. And I want you to promise something in return... that you will never stop fighting for your life. Whatever terrible fate awaits us, we can fight it and prevail! I need you to trust me on that. Do you promise? Lysithea: I...I promise. I will try my best to believe that. Edelgard: Good girl. Now then, would you care for a sweet cake? Lysithea: Ugh, PLEASE do not call me that! But uh...yes. Yes, I would. |
