Mae is a major character from the film, Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild.
Biography[]
While fighting a Nerscylla in the wilderness, Aiden and Julius first come upon Mae. Despite having a very effective staff, she has an academic bent. She accepts the mission to slay Lunastra, the dragon, after they vanquish the beast since it would be excellent for her diary and provide the Guild further proof that they need military experts as well as scholars.
Even after shooting an arrow at the beast, the Dragonator continues to march on after breaking during the team's final act battle with Lunastra. Mae is eaten as she attempts to buy Aiden time to drown the dragon. It's devastating since she has been gathering data for years, and the strategy was based on her journal. Even worse, she wasn't doing this for the rush of the kill or an ego boost; rather, she wanted to aid the realm. Mae's parents, who believed she was wasting her life, were also incensed by her academic career choice. Despite how she felt, it is tragic that she acknowledges them before she passes away since it seems that she is moving on from the past.
