Magic is one of the two main protagonists of Puppy in My Pocket: Adventures in Pocketville.
He is a young male German Shepherd who becomes the companion of Kate after her accidental teleportation to Pocketville caused by an incident which teleported Princess Ava to the Big City in the girl’s place and the Friendship Heart to be split into two halves on the Pocket Kingdom’s anniversary. He and Kate also take possession of one half of the Friendship Heart, along with the Royal Collar, whereas Eva, the mastermind behind the incident who vows to become the new monarch of the Pocket Kingdom, has the other.
Magic accompanies Kate and the Royal Guards on their journey to find the ideal pet for a lonely child in Kate’s new hometown and a Magic Drop for the Friendship Ceremony along with trying to get the other half of the Friendship Heart, while he and Kate themselves focus on finding Princess Ava while in the Big City.
Whenever Kate is around other people or has to go to school, Magic is in charge of protecting the Royal Collar by wearing it around his neck, just so nobody gets suspicious.
He is voiced by Renato Novara in the original Italian dub, Mark Hanna in the first English dub, Wayne Forester in the official UK dub, and Johnny Yong Bosch in the official US dub.

Appearance[]
Magic is a light orange-colored dog with brownish gray markings on his face, back, tail, and behind the ears, a black nose, and orange eyes. His left ear is folded. He wears the golden Royal Collar with engravings of hearts, paw prints, and pockets and with one half of the Friendship Heart, which resembles a ruby.
Personality[]
Magic is one energetic, cheerful, friendly, and spontaneous little dog. He loves being around Kate, whom he considers her best friend now that he was adopted by her.
He loves to play as many dogs do, as he is sometimes seen chasing a ball or running around with Kate.
Despite his carefree demeanor, Magic is incredibly loyal to Kate and will do anything to protect her, even if it means getting himself hurt.
Biography[]
Magic grew up in Pocketville and has attended the Pocketville School, with one of his classmates he knew, named Camo, being sent to the Big City through the Friendship Ceremony some time after his. His former name was Oristolfo, and as he did not like his name that much, he wished to have a new name, along with a new friend and family.
Eventually he was chosen to be the Chosen Pet for Kate on the anniversary of the Pocket Kingdom. At first his Friendship Ceremony seemed to be going well, but Eva put her plan in action to take the Friendship Heart by getting two of her lackeys to distract the Royal Guards and get it for her. Ava moves him to safety and ends up getting herself teleported to the Big City, switching places with Kate. Upon her arrival, Magic immediately realizes that she is meant to be his best friend.
After the Royal Guards got to know Kate, both her and Magic stayed at the castle kitchen for a while, as Kate thought of a new name for him. Eventually as she thought about magical things happening since she got to Pocketville, she comes up with Magic for his name, to which he liked.
Magic usually follows Kate wherever she goes in search of Princess Ava, and he is always the one who steps in when it comes to protecting her.
In “Together Forever!”, the series finale, he and Kate are given the full Friendship Heart, as Ava has a new jewel of her own, the Ocean of Friendship. With the Friendship Heart, both him and Kate can travel to and from Pocketville whenever they want, and Magic and Kate will still understand each other thanks to it. He was also very happy— just as happy as Kate to find out that Maria, Kate’s mother, came back home to stay for good, and that he and Kate can live a happy life without any worries.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Courage: Magic is not afraid to face any danger, even if it means getting himself hurt, and will do anything to protect Kate from it.
- Enhanced sense of smell: Magic has a very keen sense of smell, which is shown in “Food of Thought” where he smells Goldie’s cooking, thinking it was chocolate, and in “New Friends”, where he finds a Magic Drop in a mushroom thanks to his nose.
