Mama Odie is a kindly visually-challenged old voodoo priestess who lives deep in the swamps of Louisiana. She is one of the minor protagonists in Disney's 2009 film The Princess and the Frog, where she acts as the film's Fairy Godmother. She is voiced by Jenifer Lewis. Mama Odie has a pet snake named Jubjub.
History
The Princess and the Frog
Mama Odie first appears when Tiana and Naveen go into her hideout swamp in Louisiana. She later sings her signature song, "Dig a Little Deeper" with her spoonbills who dance. Tiana convinces them about making an ingredient to turn them back into a prince. Later in the film, she is the minister during the marriage of Tiana and Naveen. It is unknown what happened to her before the film ends.
