Marcy: This... this isn't real, is it? The real Anne and Sasha don't want what I want, and it hurts. But forcing them to follow my dreams is wrong! I've learned that the hard way. King Aldrich: This is getting tiresome, Marcy. We gave you your silly games and your idiotic little friends. It's time for you to be assimilated into The Core. Now! Marcy: NO! Only a coward would hide away in this place! Well, I reject this sick fantasy and I reject YOU! King Aldrich/The Core: Rrraaagghh! FOOL! The only thing waiting for you out there is rejection and misery! Even if your friends win, your parents will still tear the three of you apart. Marcy: I've started this whole mess because I wanted to escape that reality. But I won't run away from it anymore!
~ Marcy remorsefully accepts the reality of being separated from Anne and Sasha.
Anne, Sasha, I am sorry, I was so scared of moving away. The thought of losing you was just so big! I-I was afraid that if we weren't together, we wouldn't be friends anymore.
~ Marcy apologizing to Anne and Sasha for her actions.
Marcy Wu (瑪希吳 in Chinese) is a pivotal protagonist of the 2019 animated Disney Channel series Amphibia.
She is one of Anne's two best friends who were transported to Amphibia alongside her and Sasha, who becomes a head ranger for the Newtopia army before secretly becoming a human host for King Andrias' master, the Core until she was freed from the Core's possession by her friends. She represents the Green Gem of Wit on the Calamity Box.
She is a Taiwanese-American teenage girl with a tall slim body, short black hair with a green barrette. On Earth, she wears a gray hooded school uniform, a green skirt, pale blue socks, and brown shoes.
In Amphibia, Marcy wears a faded blue hooded cape, complete with a white-furred collar which is held together with a pink shell. She also wears a brown metal chest plate, a stitched skirt, and grey winter snow boots which are wrapped with studded straps. Marcy has gray fingerless gloves on each of her hands, moreover, her signature primary weapon seems to be a golden hand-mounted crossbow that is fitted onto her right forearm and glove.
Marcy is shown to be a geeky, friendly and smart girl.
She was the one who got curious when discovering the Calamity Box. She's also insanely clumsy due to being so focused on what she's doing that she becomes completely oblivious to her surroundings, frequently walking into and tripping over things.
Marcy is shown to be a fan of retro video games. Prior to being teleported into Amphibia, she was seen with a game system similar to the Nintendo Switch. When she met the Plantars, she offered them a copy of a game called "Vagabondia Chronicles" and she wanted Anne and Sasha to play a game called "Creatures and Caverns".
As of "The First Temple", some of her character flaws include: her obliviousness and her overconfidence, especially in her ability to strategize and utilize her intelligence; her obsessive focus and hyper fixations on her interests to the point of failing to notice when her friends or she herself are in danger; and her unwillingness to intervene in friends' arguments, ignoring them completely in the hopes that they will resolve it themselves.
"True Colors" revealed that Marcy knew about the Calamity Box and how it could take her to other worlds. It was the day of Anne's 13th birthday when she got a message to meet her parents at her house. She was informed her father had gotten a job out of state and would be moving away from Sasha and Anne. Marcy didn't want this, so she suggested the music box for Anne's gift. Marcy didn't expect it to work, but she was happy it did. Now that she, Anne, and Sasha were stuck in Amphibia, they could be together forever.
Marcy didn't want to be separated from her two friends, so she got them trapped in the new world. She only thought about herself and not about her friends, causing them to become upset that she took them away from their lives and their family. Marcy just didn't want to be alone. However, she does help them defeat the Frogbots, save Sprig, and took Anne with the Plantars back home.
Okay, so, Newtopian rope can hold an average human girl for, uh, 2.3 seconds. Maybe I could reinforce the rope with ironspider silk to increase the tensile strength.

And I'm the personification of metamorphosis!

I...I'm sorry for everything

What...what is this? Huh?

~ Marcy regaining conscious after being freed from the Core's control.
It is heavily theorized that her parents are emigrated from Taiwan, as Wu is Chinese surname and flashback in "True Colors" shows two stone lions in Wu residence, further proving this theory.
It is implied that she suffers from ADHD, as Marcy demonstrated tendencies of this in "The First Temple".
She has a running gag throughout the series of tripping and/or falling on flat ground to demonstrate her klutziness.
