Marianne Von Edmund is the adoptive heir to house Edmund of the Leicester Alliance and a member of the Golden Deer House. Marianne is a supporting protagonist for Fire Emblem Three Houses and Three Hopes.
She is voiced by Sawako Hata in Japanese and by Xanthe Huynh (who also voiced Haru Okumura) in English.
Backround[]
Marianne was born a child to unnamed parents of a minor noble family before her parents died when she was fourteen and she was adopted by Margrave von Edmund. Marianne bears the crest of Maurice, known as the Crest of the Beast which turned him into a beast and leading him to be purged from the records of the Ten Elites. Marianne was enrolled into the officers academy in the year of imperial 1180.
Appearance[]
Marianne has long pale blue hair that is that is held together by a hair braid with brown eyes and wears a school uniform during the academy phase and long blue dress with gold accessories during the war phase.
Personality[]
Marianne is pessimistic and unsocial because of her past and a belief that she will either curse or inconvenience others, because of this she talks to animals and if she does speak she is always saying sorry even when things aren't her fault. Though Marianne is shy and pessimistic she is humble and caring to those she is close with and animals and post time skip becomes more optimistic and frowns on her old self for believing her life was worthless. Marianne's likes are praying to Sothis and talking to animals while she dislikes are herself, and Crests.
The extent of Marianne's severe negative outlook on both herself and life isn't revealed until after the timeskip. While believed by the others to be very devout as she prays in the cathedral daily, she ultimately confesses that she was actually praying for death every day, finding her life to be an inescapable curse. However now matured after five years, she becomes very courageous and protective of her friends, vowing to survive the hardships to continue helping them. She gains a much more positive outlook and becomes much more approachable, no longer shying away from interacting with anyone. While she retains a sense of shyness and is still very softspoken, she deeply values her friends and more importantly, finally values herself. In her paired ending with Byleth, displaying tremendous confidence she actually proposes to him and not the other way around.
Biography[]
In the imperial year of 1185 Marianne re joins with members of the Golden Deer House and assists them in driving out the bandits from Gerreg Mach. After helping the former Golden Deer retake Gerreg Mach she helps them in their war with the Empire in order to stop Edelgard from conquering Foldan. After Marianne, Byleth and the former Golden Deer invade Enbarr the imperial capital killing Edelgard they receive a letter from a deceased Hubert who informs them about the location of the hide out of those who slither in the dark called Shambhala. After raiding Shambhala to bring an end to the group Thales activates the bases systems unleashing javelins of light on the base hoping to kill Byleth but failed when Rhea became the immaculate one in order to stop them from killing the party. After the death of Thales, Nemesis the king of liberation is reborn and massacre's his way to Gerreg Mach Monastery but his confronted by Marianne, Claude, Byleth, and former Golden Deer on the Caledonian Platue where him and his ten elites parish.

Marianne is a playable character on the gacha mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes. She was added on March 5, 2021 under the "Seeds of Fódlan" banner, and her brave variation was added on August 17, 2021 under the "Keepers of Faith" banner. She was paired with Hilda on her summer variation who was added on June 21, 2021 under the "Summer Vibrance" banner.
