Marin Izutsumi is the tritagonist of the 2021 dark comedy manga series A Ninja and an Assassin Under One Roof and it’s 2025 anime adaptation by Studio Shaft. She is a mad scientist that creates tools for murdering with a rivalry but secret admiration against Konoha Koda in the assassin rankings, who later becomes friends with her and Satoko Kusagakure, aiding them in their problems or battles against other assassins and ninjas. She is the younger sister of Minato Izutsumi, another scientist, who both tragically lost their parents at a young age.
In the anime, she was voiced by Yū Serizawa, who also voiced Ueno in How Clumsy you are, Miss Ueno.
Personality[]
Marin is a childish intelligent scientist who, similar to Konoha, is very skilled at her job, such as creating a robot replica of Satoko that fooled Konoha, creating her gadgets such as her mechanical tentacles, or changing Satoko’s body to her request to her pleasure. She also has the tendency to be a bit aloof in her creations or playful attitude, such as when she arrived to play with Satoko to see how she’s doing, much to Konoha’s annoyance. She does, however, show genuine care for those who she grows to or feels sympathy for, evident by spending a month together with Satoko that begins to develop a sister-like bond with Satoko, or her creation of Roboko, who she carefully built together, though they are people such as Konoha and her older sister that are more numb to her.

Marin is a young scientist with light blue hair with shades of a darker blue wrapped in twintails via large skull emblems, bright yellow eyes, shark-like teeth, and sliver piercings on each end of her ears. She dons as a lab coat with a pure blue uniform, while wearing short white socks and red and white sneakers.
Trivia[]
- During the recording of the anime, Yū Serizawa had to record her dialogue while having to work around the sharp shape of Marin's mouth movements. She recorded with a squeaky voice and teeth meshing together.
- According to the author in an interview with Serizkawa during the anime's airing, he considers Marin to be the main heroine of the series.
- Originally, Haruna Mikawa was intended to play the role of Marin, before she was offered Satoko instead.
