Marina is the deuteragonist of The Pebble and the Penguin. She is the most beautiful penguin in the rookery, and Hubie's love interest, later wife in the end.
She was voiced by Annie Golden.
Marina appears first at the beginning of the movie when Hubie tries to impress her and become her mate. But he has to deal with Drake, a penguin who has lustful feelings for Marina and hates Hubie. Marina and Hubie soon sing Sometimes I Wonder under the moonlight. Drake soon wants her to be her mate, but only out of lust.
After Hubie swept away from Antarctica following a confrontation with Drake over a pebble Hubie was going to give to Marina, Drake (believing Hubie to be dead), began to hound Marina to forget about Hubie and accept his pebble, or she would be banished from the rookery for failing to take a mate. Marina, undaunted by his advances, refused him every time he asks, because she knew Hubie was still alive somewhere else. Drake then began to assume that she was simply joking, singing his personal song, Don't Make Me Laugh, and even goes as far as to threaten her, saying that she will be a shark's dinner, and Hubie was just the appetizer.
Hubie arrives back in Antarctica alone after being separated from his new friend Rocko and the pebble following a run in with three killer whales. He arrives at Drake's lair and sees that he has kidnapped Marina and tried to force her to be with him. Hubie and Drake fight for Marina with Hubie winning by dropkicking Drake down a staircase.
Hubie then proposes to Marina, who accepts just as Rocko reveals himself to be alive. However Drake returns and tries to kill Hubie but soon dies when his large tower collapses down him. Hubie then gives Marina the pebble (which Rocko still had) but she says, "But don't you know? It's not the pebble. It's the penguin. I love you even more," then they kiss.
In the epilogue of the movie, Marina and Hubie have eight children, who Rocko teaches how to fly.
