Biography[]

Backstory[]

Marion has lived in Omaha, Nebraska her entire life. She has a son named Jeff who at one point moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico before eventually returning to Omaha.

Better Call Saul[]

Season 6[]

Marion navigates a supermarket on her mobility scooter while grocery shopping. On her way home, her scooter gets stuck in snow, and she gets the attention of "Gene Takavic", who is posting missing pet flyers around the neighborhood for a supposedly lost dog called "Nippy". Gene offers Marion his help, but he intentionally cuts her scooter's wiring to ensure that he has to manually push her all the way to her house.

Jeff, the taxi driver who previously confronted Gene at the mall after recognizing him as Saul, returns home to find "Gene" chatting with Marion in their kitchen. He's forced into an awkward situation sitting at the table while "Gene" easily wins over Marion with his charm, and she informs her son that "Gene" will be joining them for dinner.

The next day, following the previous night's shopping center heist, Jeff and his friend Buddy open the crate in his outdoor garage and admire their stolen clothing, and they are thrilled by their successful robbery. When Marion approaches the garage on her scooter, the three men pretend to be examining an old car's engine to avoid suspicion. Marion invites "Gene" inside and confides that Jeff associated with troublesome people in Albuquerque, telling "Gene" he's now having a positive influence on her son. ("Nippy")

Gene visits Jeff's house and Marion welcomes him, showing off a new laptop computer Jeff purchased with his mall heist earnings, which she uses to watch funny cat videos on YouTube. Jeff comes home to find them together in the kitchen. Gene excuses himself and Jeff from the kitchen, which bothers Marion.

After settling down to watch television, Gene receives a frantic call from Jeff on his old earphone. Gene, Jeff, and Buddy regroup in Jeff's garage, which Marion observes from her bedroom.

After Jeff is arrested and charged with breaking and entering related to the broken window at the cancer patient's house (he was actually creating a diversion allowing Gene to escape by alerting the police car behind his taxi) Gene calls Marion to inform her that her son is in jail.

Marion shares some details about Jeff's criminal activities in Albuquerque, which prompts Gene to mention that bondsmen aren't necessary in Omaha and that it's "not like Albuquerque at all." This remark of his makes Marion suspicious, and she uses her new laptop to discover Gene's true identity as Saul Goodman. Gene catches her watching his old television commercials, and when she tries to call the police, he yanks the phone cord from the wall and corners her threateningly. Marion presses her LifeAlert button to report that Saul Goodman is still alive and in her kitchen, Jimmy escaping through the back door. Marion later provides police with Jimmy's car license plate number, remarking to herself that she hopes they catch him - Marion's wish comes true when Jimmy surrenders to authorities, admits to his crimes in court, and receives an 86-year prison sentence.
