You f--king bastard!
~ Mark's last words before killing himself with his Handgun.

Mark Heathcliff is the overarching protagonist of The Mandela Catalogue. He is a Christian who is living through a crisis caused by Satan in hopes to overthrow God. As a young child, he had an encounter with an Intruding Alternate, though he was fine and just went back to sleep afterwards. Mark would soon encounter possibly the same alternate on a television on August 30, 1992, at his home.

He was friends with Cesar Torres and an unidentified Woman Voice. After visiting Cesar's Home to turn on his cameras, An Alternate follows him home and torments him for multiple days from outside his room until Mark commits Suicide on September 15th, 1992.

Through out the series he is referenced on a Live Broadcast and an Alternate mocking his voice to tease Thatcher Davis. His house from the outside with a blue tint from a police car with a red square over his bedroom window where he would of died appears consistently over the series long after his death.

He is portrayed by the series creator, Alex Kister.

Biography[]

During one of the night's, Mark was having trouble with his sleeps. He tries to reach for his mother and father room as he went down stairs, but inside it was no one but just a culprit, standing still by the corner. Mark quickly falls into unconscious as he was stressed out with the encounter but awakes by the second day. He writes a story about this to his teachers and friends aftermath.

Some years later, Mark is still living in Mandela County. He befriended Cesar Torres, with his life goes on as normal before the announcement of "The Think Principle". Despite Mark being a bit doubting about the creatures seen, he still applied with the rules. Later, Mark was called by Cesar, who tries to ask Mark to came to his home and turns on the security camera both of them have settled up due to a robbery. Mark hesitantly agrees to help, taking his car and drives to Cesar's place.

He check all of the camera and turns them on, checking all of them before starting to notice something is moving inside Cesar's home. This leads to him try and return to his home and isolated in his bed, trying to call out for Cesar in desperations to no avail. NOBODY CAME FOR ME
~ Mark in his composition notebook and camcorder.
Today is a day I need God's love more than anything. I am alone and need to feel the warmth of his love and reassurance.
~ Mark's composition notebook; Page 2
(NOTE THE INCORRECT SPELLING DUE TO MARK'S YOUNG AGE AT TIME OF THE STORY BEING WRITTEN) Daddy didn't check under my bed last night. So I went to Mommys room. I was scared. There was scary nocking on the door. And the scariest part is walking by the dark room by the stares. Almost at Mommys room. Then i saw The man in the corner.
~ The Scary Night, written by Mark at age 4

UH OH! BAD DECISION, MARK!
~ Mark's Camcorder text. The writer unknown though most likely "The True Savior" or "Cesar".
Sound familiar?
~ An Alternate mimicking Mark's voice to taunt Thatcher Davis

Personality[]

Mark is shown very little but from what we see, he appears to be a hesitant person as he is very unsure if to accept Cesar's request. Possibly due to an encounter with The Intruder as a young child or the THINK Principal broadcast, he has paranoia and trust issues; He owns a gun in his drawer. Mark enjoyed writing about his life in journals since the age of about 5.

Mark is seems to be a average everyman, living a normal life. His interactions with Ceaser's show him to be concerned for his friends and families, but by someway was hesitant to take actions when they're in troubles. He appears to be having trust issues, notably due to The Principal being announced to the entire Mandela County. During the entire confrontation with a alternate, Mark managed to last three days inside his bedroom, showing that he is determined to live.

Mark only snapped the moment when Satan tells him the story of how his entire religion, Christianty was a lie and they have been manipulated, outright replaced them since the beginning. This leads him to having a mental breakdown, killing himself out of shock.
