Background[]
Who Killed Markiplier?[]
Mark grew up with his friends the Colonel and Damien. The trio were inseparable best friends who could never be separated until the day Mark met a woman named Celine. Celine was Mark's love interest the two would later get married inside of the mansion Mark grew up in. Sadly Colonel would convince Celine to leave Mark for him to which she did and the two ran off with each other. Mark sad and alone ends up trying to commit suicide, however what he didn't know was that the mansion itself had been inhabited by an evil entity. Every time he tried killing himself he would end up inside of an "Up-Side down verse" upon Mark going there he would immediately be sent back to his battered and mutilated corpse. Soon Mark begins questioning his life and even his purpose. The entity (Darkiplier) had convinced Mark to get revenge on the Colonel for what he did. Little did Mark know that Darkiplier was actually using him as a pawn the whole time in its plans to escape the mansion with a host. Mark would soon invite all of his friends to the mansion for a party and while there he would constantly torment Colonel without him realizing it. Mark had convinced the Colonel to play a "friendly" game of Russian Roulette with him. Mark had rigged it so that the Colonel would end up killing him. Colonel was extremely distraught by killing his best friend, Mark would then go back to his corpse due to the nature of the mansion thus this would result in Mark framing the Colonel for his death. Mark would contuine with his plans until Caline showed up to the mansion and threw a wrench Mark's plans. Mark would soon be tricked by Darkiplier into thinking that he had murdered his best friend Damien. In reality Darkiplier had killed Damien and merely tricked Mark into thinking that he was the culprit. Mark out of remorse is seen cradling Damien's cane, soon Mark goes insane not just from killing his best friend but also because of the psychologically effects from the mansion. Markiplier would go extremely insane because of this and runs out of the mansion like a mad man adopting the name " Wilford Warfstache". The entity soon leaves Mark alone after realizing that he's nothing more than an insane lunatic now and instead goes after the player (the detective) swapping bodies with him.
A Date with Markiplier[]
Mark asks the player out on a date to which they accept. On the date Darkiplier intervenes constantly trying to kill Markiplier and take his place. Everything goes well at first, however Darkiplier keeps on altering reality and tries getting the player to kill Mark by sabotaging the date and constantly manipulating the player. Darkiplier can sometimes be seen casting illusions as well to try and fool the player into murdering Markiplier. The more the date goes on the more physiological affects begin happening to both Mark and the player. It's unknown what Mark's actual fate is within the game. This is because the canon ending reveals that the player was actually Chica (Markiplier's dog) and the player sees Wilford Warfstache before presumably dying.
A Heist with Markiplier[]
Mark is first seen with the unnamed protagonist as the two of them plan on robbing a museum to gain some sort of box. It's unknown what lurks inside of the box although Mark says that it's an important artifact. The two of them go inside of the building with everything going well at first. Although later Mark is seen asking the player on how they should go inside of the museum. No matter what the player chooses the two of them wind up getting caught by the guards. While this is happening the two of them make their get away but also are able to capture the mysterious box. Mark then presents the player with two options. They can either go in "guns blazing" or go under the museum.
All Sneaky Like/Dark Tunnel route[]
If the player decides to go underneath the museum and travel through the sewers then they will be presented with the opportunity to go to the dark tunnel or the light tunnel. Upon going inside of the dark tunnel the player will start going through the sewers the duo will then encounter a crossroads, this will then result in Mark asking the player If they want to split up or not. If the player says they don't want to split up then Mark will contentiously say that he wants to split up. Eventually the player will handcuff themselves to Mark and Mark will do everything he can to try to convince the player that the duo should split up. Soon the duo will end up at a cliff soon, the player will then be given an opportunity to split up again, if the player decides to split up then Mark will fall to his death and he will ask the player to look after his dog Chica. If they don't then the duo will use the magical box causing the duo to travel through time constantly. Soon after reaching the start of the Heist once again Mark will become extremely angry that the whole thing was for nothing.
If the player doesn't want to split up then Mark will immediately be eaten up by a mysterious creature that devours Mark only leaving some body parts behind.
All Sneaky Like/Light Tunnel route[]
If the player decides to use the light tunnel then the duo will land inside of a huge body of water. Mark will then ask the player if they want to row home on their boat or wait for a rescue.
If the player decides to row home then Mark will give the player two options. They can either build a sign or find a shelter of some kind.
If they player goes out to find some shelter then they will go to a desert island, Mark will then ask the player if they want to go enter the cave or run away. If the player runs away then the player and Mark will jump into the ocean and be eaten by a shark.
Wait For Rescue/I know everything route[]
If the player decides to wait for a rescue, then a pirate ship will appear and the ship will then drop off an anchor. Mark will then be crushed to death by the anchor. They will then be rescued by a pirate named Captain Magnum. Captain Magnum will then ask the player if they know anything about the treasure their currently looking for. If the player says they know everything about it then Captain Magnum will accuse the player of trying to steal his crews treasurer and kill the player.
Wait For Rescue/I know nothing route[]
If the player says they know nothing then the group of pirates and the player will go on to find the treasure. Captain Magnum will find two different islands "Treasured Gold" and the other labeled "Golden Treasure". If they player decides to go to the Golden Treasure island then Mark will kill the player due to the island needing a sacrifice. It's presumed that Captain Magnum lives with his pirates forever with the treasure after this. Should the player go to the Treasured Gold island then the player will help Captain Magnum find the secret hidden gold. Captain Magnum will allow the player to live with him and his pirates because of their loyalty to him.
Guns Blazing/Car route[]
Should the player encourage Mark to use the car the duo will get into the car after stealing the artifact and drive away. The player points out that there are two people who just flashed at them, but somehow they aren't actually there so Mark in response addresses this as a joke. Mark will soon stop the car so that him and the player can rest for the night. Mark reveals that he made breakfast for the duo, however the car won't start thus Mark offers the player two options. They can either wait for Mark to fix the car or go to the base he marked on a map.
Car/Walk to base route[]
Should the player walk to base they will be bitten by a zombie. Upon them returning to Mark he will ask them if their ok. If the player is honest with Mark and tells him that they were bitten Mark is unable to bear them being a zombie. Mark in response to this will push the player away to join the zombies and sobs uncontrollably saying that he will always remember the player. It's unknown what happens to Mark after this, but it's presumed that he goes to the base on his own. If the player lies to Mark and tells him that their fine the duo will keep walking and chatting until their interrupted by a truck driver. He's panicking about the on going zombie apocalypse, he then drives off screen and his truck explodes. Mark then turns on a radio which alerts the duo that there is a base for everyone that hasn't been infected by the zombies. Mark then asks the player if they should go to the fort or the scientists lab.
If the player goes to the scientists lab then the duo will encounter a scientist who detects the player as an anomaly. The player can either confess that they have been bitten by a zombie or run off. If the player runs off they'll turn into a zombie and this will result in them killing Mark and presumably the scientist. If the player confesses that they have been bitten the scientist will discover that the box is actually the anomaly and in response she will blast the box. This will result in the duo going back at the start of the game. Mark will then ask the player if they want to go on that date he planned which is a reference to "A Date with Markiplier".
If the player decides to go to the soldiers base then the duo will go to the soldiers base. He tells the duo that he's a survivor among the outbreak, he talks about how his friend was infected, but lied about it saying they weren't. The soldier then suspects Mark to be infected and aims his gun at Mark. The player then has to chooses they can either point out that the Solider Ed is infected or admit that they themselves are infected. Should they point out that Ed is infected Ed admits that he is and he plans to blow up his house to neutralize himself. The duo escape shorty after Ed confesses this, the player can then decided to either eat a tuna or PB&J Sandwhich with Mark. If they eat the tuna Sandwhich they will be cured; if they pick the PB&J one they will somehow become a zombie that can eat normal food and isn't very aggressive. Once this happens you vouch to the zombies telling them that they should eat things besides humans and Mark vouches to the humans telling them they should live in peach with zombies. The two nations then live in harmony.
If the player decides to admit that they're infected then Ed will thank the duo for having manners then shoots the player. The player will receive the "What Did You Expect?" ending, it's unknown what happens to Mark after this, although it's likely that Mark escaped from Ed after learning that he was infected as well.
Car/Try to fix route[]
If the player chooses to try and fix the car Mark will call the player over to help him which will result in the duo falling into a cave. A boulder comes along and presumably kills him off screen.
A variant from an alternate universe known as "Illinois Mark" will ask if the player wants to go on an adventure with him. If the player says no the player will die as they are crushed by a boulder, if the player wants to go on an adventure with him the duo will encounter a monkey statue. If the player gives Illinois Mark the monkey statue he will give it to the monkey which will result in the duo being praised by the monkey gods and sent to a banana heaven. Illinois Mark apologizes if the player falls in love with him as he says "everyone does". If the player doesn't want to give Illinois Mark the statue then the statue will possess the player. The player will then kill Mark.
Guns Blazing/Helicopter route[]
The two of them end up going inside of the museum and are shot at. They are then presented with two options a car or a helicopter, should the player chooses the helicopter the two of them will wind up in jail due to them nor Mark knowing how to fly the helicopter. Mark is seen with the player and looks extremely agitated since the player used the helicopter but didn't know how to fly one. Mark continues to question why the player decided to choose the helicopter if they didn't know how to fly it until the two are interrupted by a prison guard. From then the two of them end up inside of a prison. The duo soon learn that it's actually an rehabilitation center for people to be rehabilitated. Mark has his box stolen by the ward, Mark demands that they give it back to him since it's Mark's. The ward refuses and the prison guard knocks out the two, later the duo wakes up inside of prison. Mark soon walks up to a inmate and demands that they respect him and help the duo escape. The inmate punches Mark through a wall which winds up allowing him to "escape" the prison. Despite this due to him being knocked out he would be brought back into the prison. Later on Mark is brainwashed into loving the prison and wishes to stay forever. He will try convincing the player to stay in the prison with the other criminals. If they don't accept his offer Mark will fight the player. The two of them will engage in a fist fight, the player winds up beating up Mark in the fight. Soon the other criminals are about to beat up the player but Mark stops them, he says he thinks him and the player got off on the wrong foot. Mark offers the player a second chance to join him and the others. If the player says yes the player will do anything to stay in prison and not get parole much like the previous ending. If the player says no Mark challenges them to a dance battle. Mark winds up winning the dance battle and presumably kills the player by kicking them so hard they die.
Charm the guards/Dig Dig Dig route[]
If the player encourages Mark to dig he will proceed to dig to the guards office. Upon arriving in the office the guard is seen sleeping, Mark and the player find the box then the duo are presented with an option. The player can either convince Mark to open up the box or leave it be. If the player tells Mark to open up the box, out of the box a blue fairy appears, however the fairy ends up creating to much noise which alerts the guard to the duo's position and the guards will then lock the duo up permanently resulting in the "Shut Up!" ending. Should the player still stick to the plan Mark will act as if he's terminally ill. One of the guards will feel sympathy for Mark and in response gives Mark his cell phone. Mark calls his friend "Bubba", Bubba will then ram though the wall of the prison picking up the duo. In a plot twist it's revealed that Bubba was actually the guard, after revealing this the guard holds both the player and Mark at gun point. The player then has two options, they can either tell Mark to open up the box or shoot Bob. If the player opens up the box the duo travels back in time and winds up at the start of the game then the two are extremely confused. Mark gets confused as to why you both are in your robber outfits but yet you hold the box still. Mark simply shrugs this off and asks you if you want to rob the museum again to gain a second box.
If the player decides to shoot Bob/Bubba Mark will ask Bob why he betrayed the duo. In a second plot twist it's revealed that Bob wasn't actually Bob but Wade. Before Mark can respond to this the real Bob shoots Mark from behind presumably killing him. It's then revealed that player was Wade but Bob is also Wade this will give the player the "It Was ME The Whole Time" ending.
Charm the guards/What's that? route[]
Although the player can also convince Mark to charm the guard. Should they do this Mark will politely ask the guard if he can have the box back, the guard will simply rudely reply with no and lock the duo into prison. The player is then presented with an opportunity to either help Mark dig or point out the dark and ominous hall way. The duo move the toilet in thier cell out of the way, this reveals a "secret" hall way after moving the toilet out of the way a Skeleton falls out. The two then go into the hall way. It's unknown what happens next as the game ends there and the player receives the "The Enigma of Happy Trails Penitentiary" ending.
In Space with Markiplier[]
The game starts with the player being a captain of a ship called the Invincible II. Mark seems to have been the one to have created the Invincible II. Upon arriving things start going fine at first, however soon the ship starts suffering from tons of mechanical problems. This results in things like fires starting and lights flickering constantly and other things like temporary power outages. While this is going on Mark makes it seem like it's all natural and then introduces the entire crew to the captain. The warp core then malfunctions causing the entire crew to go into a wormhole. The wormhole somehow transports the crew into an entire multiverse, however this allows for an unknown entity (presumably Darkiplier) to start messing with various universes in the Markverse.
This also results in everyone who "dies" to come back to life somehow. Mark simply follows the captains lead as all of this is going on, Mark confused about everything that's happening he himself soon gains the ability of immortality. This leads to the duo attracting the attention of the mysterious entity. Mark in an attempt to solve the issue winds up causing the entire universe to collapse, although it's implied that the mysterious entity manipulated Markiplier into doing this. The captain travels through the multiverse to stop Mark from achieving his goal of "fixing" the universe. Once this happens the player (the captain) ends up putting themselves inside of a cryo chamber freezing them and this somehow results in the universe resetting.
