Marry Kozakura is the fourth member of the Mekakushi Dan. She is a 1/4 medusa girl who is the granddaughter of Azami.
She is voiced by Kana Hanazawa.
Appearance[]
Marry is a small girl with long white hair that reaches down to her hips. She has pink eyes with light pupils, though they can be seen as black in older designs. She wears a blue dress with a white apron over it, and she sometimes has a pink ribbon tied into her hair. Her hoodie is white with pink roses sewn onto them.
In Queen form, her back hair below her neck disconnects from the rest and becomes wing-like along with it and the rest of her hair becoming dark gradient. Scales also form on her cheeks, similar to her grandmother Azami and her eyes become red, with the pupils turning into a rhombus shape resembling that of a snake. Even when she isn't in this form anymore, her hair stays short.
Personality[]
Marry is very shy and can barely stay calm around new people. Similar to Shintaro, Marry is an extreme hikikomori, which means she stays at home at all times and therefore has little to no stamina. Because of that, Marry tends to be very clumsy, as shown when she spilled all the tea and rag at Momo, and identically flung the handheld massager towards the terrorist leader during the incident in the shopping centre.
Due to the fact that she had to spend most of her life all by herself, she deeply cares about her friends and fears living without them being around anymore. This feelings are the main source for the use of her powers during the story, as she uses them to prevent the death of her friends.
It is also shown that Marry becomes more and more consumed with hatred with every loop, to the point she eventually longer cares about mourning her friends, believing that nothing will ever change if she does.
Ability[]
Marry has the Snake of Locking eyes, which can paralyze others. Due to being only one fourth of a medusa, she can only keep them paralyzed temporarily, unlike her mother and grandmother who could turn others to stone.
She also has the Snake of Combining Eyes, which was given to her by Azami so she could escape the daze.
Trivia[]
- She makes and sells artificial flowers, though each stalk is 5 yen and she makes about 500 yen a month.
- Her definition of a friend is "Something that changed me for the better".
- Jin mentioned the meaning of the rosemary in the language of flowers. He liked the meanings "memories" and "quiet strength", but the one that got him the most was: "Because you've come (into my life), all my worries have disappeared."
- Her name has been translated as Marry, Marie and Mary in different medias.
- She can survive without eating anything.
