Martin Li, also known as Mister Negative, is one of the two main antagonists (alongside Doctor Octopus) of the 2018 action-adventure superhero video game Marvel's Spider-Man and a major character in its 2023 sequel Marvel's Spider-Man 2.
He is the former director of the F.E.A.S.T. shelter who exacts revenge against Norman Osborn for giving him his powers that accidently killed his parents. Following his and the Inner Demons' defeat, Li was sent to the Raft for his crimes. While he started off as an antagonist in the first game, initially spreading destruction across the city to seek vengeance on Osborn, he redeems himself in the sequel as he helps Miles to destroy the symbiote in Peter's body and surrenders himself to the police, wanting to atone for his past misdeeds.
He was voiced by Stephen Oyoung.

Past[]
Martin Li was born in the fall of 1978, Dali, China to unnamed parents. When he was a child, he was diagnosed with a rare disease, so his parents brought him to Oscorp Industries in hopes to cure him. Li was tested by Norman Osborn and Otto Octavius, but things went awry when Norman injected him with GR-27, triggering negative electric energy that caused an explosion. The incident resulted in the deaths of Li's parents, and leaving Martin to live in foster care in Manhattan, New York. He grieved for his parents, turning his despair into hatred for Osborn and spending his life waiting for the moment he could destroy him.
Once he turned eighteen, Li returned to China and made a fortune in the shipping industry, but later returned to New York and opened Food, Emergency, Aid, Shelter, and Training (F.E.A.S.T.) in Chinatown. F.E.A.S.T. acted as a shelter which helps orphans, poor people, or special needs to not get abandoned or forgotten and hires people in it, including May Parker.
Marvel's Spider-Man[]
After learning of Wilson Fisk's arrested, Li forms the Inner Demons to exact his revenge against Mayor Osborn and tells the staff that he's leaving for a couple of weeks. He starts by having his gang steal Fisk's weapons and equipment, and later attacks a ceremony for Jefferson Davis, resulting in his death. The terrorist attack impacted the city, especially Jefferson's wife Rio and son Miles. Martin briefly returns to F.E.A.S.T. to retrieve his things, but suspects Peter Parker is snooping and possess citizens to distract the latter. Later on, Li and the Inner Demons hold people hostage (including Mary Jane) at the train station to infect them with Devil's Breath, but they are thwarted by Spider-Man and Watson.
Imprisoned in the Raft, Li is recruited by Doctor Otto Octavius into the Sinister Six to release Devil's Breath and defeat Spider-Man. During Otto's campaign, Spider-Man defeats the villainous group and learns the truth behind Li's hatred for Osborn. After Petr stops Octavius and saves the city at the cost of Aunt May's life, Li is returned to the Raft.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales[]
Li remains imprisoned during the Tinkerer’s campaign against Roxxon Energy, while Miles Morales takes over as the sole Spider-Man in New York City.
Li is mentioned throughout the story, with his actions impacting various characters such as Rio Morales and Aaron Davis. The Inner Demons disbanded following a fight with the Underground, and Li is indirectly mentioned as the one who killed Jefferson Davis, inspiring Rio to start her own political campaign. Aaron tries to imprison Miles to protect him from suffering the same fate as his brother, but is thwrated an later changes his mind to help his nephew.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2[]
Ten months after the Roxxon controversy, Mister Negative is recalled by Peter as he reminisces about past fights while joking with Miles. After Sandman’s capture, the Raft decides to send him and Scorpion to Ravencroft due to lack of resources. However, an attack orchestrated by Kraven the Hunter allows Scorpion and Mister Negative to escape briefly. Mister Negative is recaptured and forced by Kraven to fight Miles to the death, but Miles spares him and helps him escape to find Peter.
During the symbiote invasion by Venom, Mister Negative helps Peter and Miles fight off the Symbiotes, and then enters Peter’s mind to free him from a Symbiote. He ultimately decides to redeem himself by transferring his powers to Peter’s Symbiote, turning it into the Anti-Venom suit. Miles tells Li that while he cannot forgive him for his past actions, including the death of his father, he chooses to let go of his hatred and make peace with him. After Peter defeats the Symbiote hoard, the now powerless Li surrenders to the police to atone for his crimes.
