Mary Lila Dickerson is a major character in The Star.

She is voiced by Gina Rodriguez, who also voiced Una in Ferdinand, Kolka in Smallfoot, and Velma Dinkley in Scoob! and portrayed Gloria Fuentes in Miss Bala (2019).

Appearance[]

She has black hair. She also has blue eyes.

Personality[]

She is kind, loyal, caring. She love animals and cares about Bo when she adopts him.

Biography[]

Plot[]

In "9 months B.C.", 14-year-old Mary is visited by an angel telling her she will bear the Messiah in her womb.

Mary and 19-year-old Joseph who just had their wedding dinner. Mary takes a 6-year-old donkey in and names him Boaz, Bo for short, and reveals to Joseph her pregnant belly, with Joseph accepting Mary's situation after praying to God.

Mary and Joseph leave Nazareth in order to head to Bethlehem, Bo and 7-year-old Dave try another escape, but are confronted by 7-year-old Thaddeus and 10-year-old Rufus, who knew of the home by interrogating 12-year-old Abby.

Bo, Dave and 9-year-old Ruth catch up to Mary and Joseph in time to warn them, and hide them in a market place where the soldier ties up his dogs. Bo releases the cart Mary and Joseph were using to roll down and cause a chain reaction that knocks the soldier down a well.

Joseph decides to talk to Mary who bursts into tears and admits she’s scared about having this special baby. Joseph and Mary make up when the latter begins having contractions. They arrive at Bethlehem where Joseph can't find an inn for Mary. Mary starts to whimper but luckily Bo comes to the rescue and finds an inn for Mary where she gives birth to her baby boy and names him Jesus.
