Matt Tholomule, commonly known as Mattholomule, is a recurring character in The Owl House. He is a transfer student to Hexside School of Magic and Demonics and Gus Porter's rival-turned-friend.

Serving as the main antagonist of "Something Ventured, Someone Framed", the secondary antagonist turned anti-hero of "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", the overarching protagonist of "Labyrinth Runners" and a major character of "For The Future".

Appearance[]

Mattholomule is a teenager with beige skin color, dark brown eyes and straight brown hair. Like many other witches and wizards, he has pointed ears.

He wears the usual uniform for Hexside students, the color of his sleeves and pants is brown, like all students in the course of builders.

Personality[]

Mattholomule is a self—confident and power-hungry student. Due to frequent violations, he was expelled from the Glandus. Little interest in having real friends, and sees no problems in lying to fellow students. Begins to worry about it when his lies threaten to be revealed. However, as it turns out in "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", his attitude towards others stemmed from the harsh treatment of him by Glandus's students, and Mattholomule changed his view of things after Gus saved him, despite Mattholomule's behavior.

Biography[]

He was initially seen as a background character in "The Great Coven" inflating his head and crushing another child, and running the Repair Coven and History Coven stalls. It is possible that the Construction Coven will supervise them.

In "One Adventure, Many Deceptions", Mattholomule has his first major role, where he plans to overthrow Gus as the new president. Throughout the episode, he continuously manipulates his friends, including Gus and Luz, as he eventually stops him, but Gus also forced him to stop him. It was not long before he became a victim there, as he was rescued by Gus and Luz and, after much shock, finally won the title of president, but at the cost of many injuries.

In "Good Sense and Hard Feelings", he is seen downloading copies of King's book from a truck for the Book Nook.

In "Welcome to Hexside", he is seen getting hurt repeatedly during the video.

In "Through the Looking Glass Ruins", he teams up with Gus and a gang of Glandus High students to track down stone artifacts that increase magical powers. He frequently belittles and makes passive-aggressive comments towards Gus, and belittles his abilities. However, despite this, when the students of Glandus High turn on Gus and trap him in vines, Mattholomule worries that he has no part or knowledge that they possibly do this, and frees Gus. After he and Gus fix the ruins, they walk home together, happily joking with each other.
