Matthew Vandham (Japanese: マシュー, Mashū) is the main protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed. He is the grandson of his late grandfather, Ghondor, who was the founder of the original City and son of N and M. Following his grandfather's death and the original destruction of the city, Matthew would come across a mysterious individual known as A and together, the two would head out to find any survivors that had managed to escape the destruction of the original city, including his sister, Na'el.

Following Alpha's defeat, Matthew would go on to establish the second City with the rest of his allies and head out on a journey on his own. He would be remembered as one of the original members of the first Ouroboros and the founder of House Vandham.

He is voiced by Junya Enoki and Rory Alexander in the Japanese and English versions of the game, respectively. the former also voicing Yuji Itadori and Peter Parker (MCU)

Personality[]

Matthew is known for being a caring and considerate individual, as he has shown he is more than willing to put his life on the line for others. Having learned from the ways of his grandfather, Ghondor, Matthew desires to live in a world of peace where no one has to take each other's lives. He tends to be reckless at times however, as he often rushes in battle without careful thinking and for this, A finds herself having to ensure Matthew is kept in check.
