“ | War has no friends, Reyes. Perhaps my motivations were selfish, but I have no intention of fighting out here alone. | „ |

Biography[]
Background[]
Not much is known about Maureen Ferran's past, but she was born in the United Kingdom on Earth, and later joined the Solar Associated Treaty Organization. She reached the rank of captain, and was given command of the Tigris, the United Nations Space Alliance destroyer as she was recognized for her excellent leadership. Around this point in time, she became close friends with fellow Captain John Alder, and worked alongside other commanders during the conflict against the Settlement Defense Front. Additionally, Ferran had two unnamed daughters, but it's unknown if she was married or not.
Infinite Warfare[]
Ferran was present during Fleet Week in Geneva, helming the Tigris during the celebration until the SDF commenced a surprise attack. After the UNSA apprehended SDF officer Akeel Min Riah, the Tigris and the Retribution fought against the SDF until Alder sacrificed himself to make them retreat. After the battle, Ferran boarded the Retribution to meet with Admiral Fredrick Raines, who assigned her and acting captain Nick Reyes to fight against the Settlement Defense Front as he worked on coordinating what was left of SATO's fleet.
The two captains were then assigned by Raines to retake Earth's lunar gateway port, and Ferran command the Tigris to fight against the SDF while Reyes and the SATO Marines infiltrated the port. Once Reyes and his team cleared the port, Ferran had her ship provide support when the acting captain decided to board the SDF's warship, the SDS Ares Vallis. After Reyes succeeded in disabling the weapons systems onboard, the Tigris proceeded to destroy the Ares Vallis before parting ways. Later on, Retribution's executive officer Nora Salter contacted Ferran to locate Reyes and E3N after he was lost in space over Titan, as Admiral Raines considered doing so risky. Ferran agreed to Salter's request, with her motivation being that the UNSA needed them to fight against the SDF before parting ways once more.
As the Retribution traveled to Vesta-3 after receiving a distress signal, the Tigris was attacked by the SDF's flagship, the Olympus Mons. Ferran attempted to contact the Retribution, but was killed alongside her crew by the Olympus, leaving nothing but the remnants of the destroyer. Reyes and his crew would gather little of her distress call, and found the remains of the Tigris. SATO marine Sean Brooks would correctly deduce that SDF Admiral Salen Kotch planned the event, with evidence that the Olympus attacked Vesta-3, tricking one of the UNSA's ships to search, leaving the other in the open. Ferran and her crew were avenged by Reyes, as Kotch was killed and the SDF's military was defeated after the destruction of their shipyard.
Ferran's name was etched, along with Admiral Raines, Reyes, and other personnel who were lost during the war, onto the Wall of Remembrance inside the rebuilt UNSA headquarters in Geneva, with Salter honoring the fallen.
Quotes[]
“ | To whom it may concern, I lead sailors and troops, I protect them, and sooner or later, I prepare to send them into the jaws of hell that is the bloodiest, dirtiest, most vicious kind of warfare man has able to devise. By me, these men and women are loved with a kind of bond that exists no other place but the military. These young warriors go for days without food or sleep. They persevere when they are sick, perform miraculous feats when they are wounded, and take death defying orders without pause. They are never afraid, they never complain, and they spend all their time trying to think ways to help one another achieve victory and save us all from certain death. It is selflessness beyond the pale. My dedication to them, stands above all else, save for the freedom of our world. It was my honor and privilege to command such brave souls. Peace to the fallen, Captain Maureen Ferran. | „ |

“ | In purely mathematical terms, it's a mistake to go after him. But we've buried 19 commanders today. I'm not losing another. Send me their last known coordinates and we'll see what we can do. | „ |
