Maurice Favreau is the supporting character whose sole appearance was Metroid: Other M. He is a member of the 07th Platoon, led by Adam Malkovich who serves as a repairman and appears to have knowledge on technical repairs and recovering lost data while doing so.
Biography[]
Maurice makes his appearance with the rest of the 07th Platoon on the BOTTLE SHIP where they meet with Samus Aran, who also caught on to the Baby's Cry distress signal. Anthony Higgs assures them that Samus is their ally given that he knew her since her days as a Federation Soldier before taking her leave as an intergalactic bounty hunter. While the platoon could not get the Red Blast Shield open, Samus managed to open it easily much to their chagrin, minus Anthony who is amused. Soon, they are attacked by a Brug Mass which Adam issues orders to use their Freeze Guns together to defeat it. After that, Adam asks Samus to cooperate with them while she must comply to his orders. Maurice was assigned to head to Sector 2 to search for survivors.
Eventually, after everyone regroups at the Exam Center, Lyle is the only member who doesn't turn up which had the other members assume that he is running late. Maurice managed to repair the computer and brings everyone together. As he does some research, he managed to retrieve lost data and points out that life forms are being produced on the BOTTLE SHIP and researched as potential bioweapons and finds the name of the Director of the sites and development. Samus asks Adam if they were experimenting with bioweapons which he deduced that it may be the case, which she adds that using bioweapons is strictly forbidden which he agrees and adds that Madeline must be the director. Maurice nearly gets it restored and believes that they have a powerful security system and lets James hack into the system. They find themselves engaging with the hostile Zebesians before continuing the investigation.
During their expedition at the Biosphere, they had an encounter with the Mystery Creature, who attacks them and overpowers Samus before Anthony uses the Plasma Gun to shoot it off of her. After that, the platoon found Lyle lying on the ground dead and they wondered who was responsible.
Maurice is later found dead while investigating the Cryosphere where Samus would also encounter MB, under the guise of Madeline Bergman who, despite distrusting her at this time, tells her that one of their members is a traitor and he was the one who shot Maurice. Samus would dub the mysterious assassin as The Deleter.
