~ Mayday lamenting after realizing he had to protect Stormtrooper gear all along, also his most famous quote. |
Commander Mayday is the deuteragonist of the Star Wars: The Bad Batch episode "The Outpost" and a posthumous overarching protagonist for the rest of the series.
He is a clone commander who was tasked along with Crosshair by Lieutenant Nolan to retrieve stolen Imperial gear. But then an avalanche stormed and Mayday got injured, resulting in failure. Crosshair brought him to the Imperial depot in hopes of having him recovered only for Nolan to deny medical help for him before he died.
Just like the rest of The Clones, Crosshair is voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who voiced Appa and Momo in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Naga in Avatar: The Legend of Korra, Perry the Platypus in Phineas and Ferb. Klaus in American Dad.
Appearance[]
Mayday is a clone of Jango Fett who has overgrown hair and a beard.
Mayday wears a Phase II Clone Trooper armor. After a year of being on the Outpost, his armor started to deteriorate and he used multiple fabrics to keep it all up. He is equipped with two DC-17s in combat. He also kept with himself a small hammer to detect landmines.
Personality[]
Mayday is a selfless soldier. He cares for the wellbeing for his fellow squad as he does his best to try to keep them all alive and mourns their deaths whenever he couldn't anymore. Mayday also has misguided loyalty to the Empire because he follows all of their orders but starts to become conflicted when he and fellow clone Crosshair realized they were tasked only to retrieve stolen stormtrooper armor.
Mayday grew to care for Crosshair and saved his life from an avalanche at the cost of his own.
Synopsis[]
During the Imperial Era, Mayday and the rest of his squad were assigned to guard an outpost. 1 year later, Lieutenant Nolan assigns Crosshair to the outpost to help Mayday retrieve stolen armor. Mayday was upset that Lieutenant Nolan came so late.
Mayday befriends Crosshair and they work together to defend the outpost from raiders when they invaded. He mourns the loss of Hexx and Veetch. He demands Nolan to send his own clones to help him and Crosshair get the stolen cargo, but he refused.
On the way, Crosshair was about to step on a landmine but Mayday prevented it and saved his life. They then killed all of the raiders that stole their cargo and retrieved it, only to realize it was TK trooper armor all along and he mourned that all of his efforts were for nothing.
Suddenly, an avalanche came in their direction and buried them both. Mayday pushes him away, saving his life while letting himself be caught directly by the avalanche. Despite his pleas, Crosshair digs him out of the snow and they help each other back to the Imperial depot. Crosshair demands Nolan to help Mayday but he refuses as he succumbs to his injuries and dies. Crosshair then kills Nolan after seeing how neglectful he really is to clones. This tragic event for Crosshair had eventually led to his redemption.
