Mayor "Diamond Joe" Quimby Jr., better known as Mayor Quimby is the Mayor of Springfield, Springfield's State from The Simpsons. He was voiced by Dan Castellaneta who also voices Homer Simpson, Barney Gumble, Abe Simpson, Sideshow Mel, Krusty the Clown, Old man Hans Moleman, Gil Gunderson, Groundskeeper Willie, Thing 1 and Thing 2 (The Cat in the Hat the live action movie), The Genie (Disney's Aladdin the animated series and The Return of Jafar), Grandpa Phil (Hey Arnold!), Doc Emmett Brown (Back to the Future the animated series), and Earthworm Jim.
Appearance
Quimby is an obese major. He also wears a blue suit.
Heroic Side
Despite his vices and general self-serving use of the law, he tries to put the law to the good use, for the benefits of Springfield, such as encouraging the town to clean up Lake Springfield. Discovering that alcohol can be dangerous to people's safety, he prohibits alcoholic drinks that day in order to keep people safe. He also once sacrificed his television to save Springfield after Sideshow Bob threatened to activate a nuclear bomb if they didn't end television.
