A town is like a horse. You don't choose it. It chooses you.
~ Mayor Wild West

Mayor Wild Wild West is a major recurring character from the FOX animated series, Family Guy. He is the new mayor of Quahog, replacing his late cousin, Mayor Adam West. He is also a part-time cowboy who works at a ranch, where he raises sentient mustaches.

He is voiced by Sam Elliot.

Biography[]

Backstory[]

When Wild West was 13, he and his family moved to Oregon. When this happened, he learned a valuable lesson; "A town is like a horse. You don't choose it. It chooses you."

As an adult, Wild West married an unknown woman and with her, they had numerous children. This included 16 daughters and an unknown number of sons, (if he has any at all). He raised his children to adulthood and they all became great people.

Mayorship[]

When his cousin, Mayor Adam West died, the town of Quahog was left without a mayor and Peter went down to his Wild West Ranch to recruit him. Wild West raised a bunch of sentient mustaches on his farm as though they were livestock, which Peter adored and loved playing with. Peter asked Wild to become the mayor in lieu of his cousin's unfortunate passing. Wild refused at first but then reconsidered, joining the election and running against Elle Hitler. Lois immediately hated him and opposed him becoming mayor on account of his relation to Adam West but Peter wanted him to win because the only other alternative was a woman.

Wild wanted to prove to Lois that he would be a good mayor and assured her that he held no ill will against his opponent for being a woman. During this time, he knitted her a sweater, which she really enjoyed. Lois managed to get sexually aroused by him and then changed her ways to supporting him.

That night, Lois called out Wild's name in bed with Peter, which got Peter so pissed off that he turned against Wild, supported Elle, and even tried to sabotage his chances at becoming mayor by stealing his branding iron and using it to vandalize Elle's library but accidentally set it on fire, while Elle was still in it. Wild West heard about the disaster and rode in on his horse and used his levitation powers to save Elle's life, even though she was his opponent. This made several citizens of Quahog see him as even more of a hero than ever before.

Wild West won the mayoral election with 43 votes to Elle's 19, proving that nobody really cared. He was very nice to Elle and also went up to Peter to try and bury the hatchet with him and bought back his respect with a box full of sentient mustaches from his farm.

That night, a bunch of friends and allies of Wild, and later some animals, gathered around the campfire at his ranch as he sang "Arizona Moon", closing off the episode with honor.

Current Life[]

Mayor Wild West made a brief cameo appearance in "The Marrying Kind", where he was shown in the chorus of the show's tribute to "The Muppet Show Theme Song".

In the Halloween special, "Must Love Dogs", Wild West was shown going as Borat Sagdiyev for Halloween and kindly greeting Meg in his lude costume. Although Meg didn't get his costume as it was from a movie that was released several years ago.

In "Peterschmidt Hotels", Wild West checked into the titular hotel but when he did, Chris mixed up his luggage with the suitcases of Bruce and Jeffrey. However, they didn't even notice the difference as both of them packed the exact same things; cowboy outfits and weapons. In Bruce and Jeffrey's case, they would be using things such as cowboy hats/boots and bullwhips for something else.
