Meat is one of the main protagonists of the 1994 cartoon series The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show. He lives with Shnookums, his feline brother who he had a love-hate relationship with each other. He is a very dim and protective yet cheerfully oblivious person, yet he is shown to be abused by Shnookums due to his stupidity and overprotective nature with the house.
Yellow has lots friends like his best Red and other insect friends throughout the series.
He is voiced by Frank Welker, the voice of Fred and Scooby Doo, and Garfield in The Garfield Show.
Appearance[]
He is a teal blue-light blue bulldog with bent ears, a red collar with a yellow circular nametag, musclebound arms, and a tail.
Personality[]
He was a recklessly brutish feral dog who'd act on impulse with no intelligence and would be easy to deceive, but he proves himself to be a loyal dog who knows right and wrong despite being a idiot.
Throughout the show, Meat takes his job as a guard-dog (somewhat) a little too seriously. As time passes on, he becomes more friendly, caring, loving and loyal to Shnookums, becoming a sidekick of his who'd retaliate and beat him up if Shnookums provoked him once too many times.
Despite his stupidity, clumsiness and buffoonery, he has shown to be clever, smart and having some wisdom in comparison to Shnookums. In the episode "I.Q. You Too!", Meat being berated by Shnookums for his idiocy made him find a magazine that has a item that'd increase his intelligence and he buys said helmet to increase his I.Q; making Shnookums tricked by him by surprise. As well as showing to have a lot of talent that he can use to his advantage to help others or himself; his cunning has been shown in "Night of the Living Shnookums"; where Meat has shown to have a bit of a sadistic and mischievous side to his brutish nature, especially when he uses his fearsome skills of barking and snarling to scare Shnookums for being a antagonistic jerk. It's such to the point where he can be dangerous if anyone messes with him too much.
Biography[]
He was first introduced in "Kung Fu Kitty" as a recklessly brutish feral dog who'd act on impulse with no intelligence and would be easily duped by Shnookums, as the latter manipulated him into working with the robbers to be disowned, but redeems himself in the end by foiling the robbers' plans and retrieve his family's stolen property, as well as beating up Shnookums for tricking him.
Trivia[]
- He serves as a canine version of Stimpy from Ren and Stimpy.
- His voice used to strike a resemblance to Ralph the Guard from Animaniacs in the "Kung-Fu-Kitty" episode.
