Megan Williams is a beautiful 13-year-old girl,[2] the eldest of three children. She became the main human protagonist of the first My Little Pony series, first appearing in the 1984 and 1985 specials Rescue at Midnight Castle and Escape from Catrina, then the 1986 film My Little Pony: The Movie and the cartoon that followed (simply titled My Little Pony, but later retitled My Little Pony 'n Friends).
She lives with her younger siblings, Danny and Molly, on a ranch; there they keep a horse named TJ, and a bull named Tauro. Megan is gentle, resourceful, sweet-tempered, industrious, and more mature than most girls her age. She is also a natural leader; in times of crisis, the Little Ponies often fly across the rainbow to find her. Megan keeps the powerful Rainbow of Light in a special locket, ready for whatever evil might threaten her and/or her friends.
Megan first heard of Dream Valley from Firefly...who recruited her to help save the other Ponies from Tirac, the Master of Midnight Castle. and his army of darkness. During said quest, Megan encountered the Sea Ponies and the Moochick...the latter of whom gave her a heart-shaped locket, which contained the Rainbow of Light. After defeating Tirac, Firefly took her back home; Megan kept the locket.
She eventually returned to Ponyland, where the ponies threw her a 'Welcome Back' party. During that time, she helped the ponies free the enslaved Bushwoolies from Catrina...who was also reformed.
Personality[]
In comparison to her often bratty and/or confrontational siblings, Megan is always kind and friendly towards everyone. She rarely loses her temper but does let out her motherly side whenever the younger ponies have done something wrong.
Megan's warmth and generosity are matched by her bravery; having confronted various horrors across Dream Valley, she is capable of eliminating the biggest and scariest of threats. Wielding the Rainbow of Light, she has destroyed both Tirac and Lavan.
Megan is also very smart and clever; even without the Rainbow of Light, she has used her wits and resources to thwart many opponents who were too formidable to warrant a direct confrontation.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a girl who seemingly took care of a ranch on her own (her parents were never seen or mentioned), Megan is highly athletic for her age. She is an excellent rider, a fast runner, and a powerful swimmer.
The Rainbow of Light: The Rainbow of Light is quite possibly the most powerful source of magic in all of Ponyland, with no creature being able to match is power, with the exception of the Smooze which managed to temporarily contain it. Megan wields it in almost all times and is the keeper of the heart locket that contains it. It served as the main inspiration for the Elements of Harmony.
Trivia[]
Megan is mentioned a few times across the Equestria Girls series, with her and her siblings' names being seen on a paper in the comics. She finally made an actual, long-awaited comeback in the special Rollercoaster of Friendship.
