Megatron is a main antagonist of Transformers Cyberverse. He is the leader of the Decepticons and originally was the main threat to Earth and Cybertron until he was informed about Starscream and was willing to make peace with his brother-in-arms Optimus Prime against Starscream and later the Quintessons.
History[]
Past[]
Megatron was once a famed gladiator, who has pulled off an impressive winning streak, his most famous victory being Devastator Maximus. Eventually becoming best friends with a file clerk named Optimus, Megatron became an activist for equality on Cybertron, starting a new political organization called the Decepticons, garnering popularity pretty quickly, with Optimus next to him. In his activism, Megatron was slowly corrupted by the vast power he was getting, warping his once genuinely good motives into lust for power, waging a devastating Great War. He eventually attacked the High Council, mortally wounding Alpha Trion. With this, Optimus, now deemed a Prime by a dying Alpha Trion, decides to meet up with his old friend, asking for peace, Megatron then tries convincing his best friend to join his side, to which Optimus refuses, knowing the power-hungry tyrant the man he was once friends with has now become. After his offer to Bumblebee was also rejected, Megatron allows both of them to walk out live, however with the war now escalating. He has attended numerous peace talks with Optimus, having refused the terms as it doesn't satisfy him.
Eventually, Megatron has Shockwave hack into Vector Sigma, seeking to create a race of Perfect Decepticons that will only obey him. When Bumblebee was caught scouting, he was brought to Megatron, who ends up showcasing his delusional viewpoint by thinking the war is Optimus' fault. Revealing his true plans with the Allspark to him, Megatron then rips out Bumblebee's voice box to prevent him from talking and reveal his grand plan. However, it is too late as the Autobots later come to know off it, to which after a battle, Optimus sends the Allspark into the Ground Bridge and onto a planet named Earth.
Season 2[]
After Bumblebee woke up millions of years it later attracts attention from the Decepticon's armada, thanks to Shockwave's intel, Megatron has multiple attempts to destroy the Planet to claim the Allspark. During an attempt to do so with a planet destroying laser made by Shockwave fails as he is caught in battle, Starscream attempts to leave him dead, rightfully angering the leader, who then violently demotes him to second-in-command. Thanks to Starscream's lack of assistance, Megatron receives a leg injury, which concerns Shockave, before Megatron orders him to not focus on it and instead on his mission, thinking he will be okay. He then orders Slipstream to guard his ship, the Nemesis, before Starscream takes advantage of his injury by attacking him from the back and violently attack him and then leaves him to burn in the base's self-destruct sequence. Surviving however, Megatron boards the Nemesissecretly and angered by Starscream's treachery, then violently beats him to death before dropping his lifeless body onto the Moon.
With Starscream gone, Megatron then livestreams the humans, lying to them that Starscream was murdered by the Autobots to rally up support, even giving a fake memoir to him. After that is finished, Megatron has everyone hunt down Optimus Prime and kill him, promising to reward those who succeed to replace Starscream. When Lockdown and Clobber capture Hot Rod, Megatron congratulates them on their victory, using him as a bargaining chip for Optimus' life, fixing a rendezvous point to kill him. When Hot Rod breaks free, Megatron orders his men to go after them, with Optimus ending the negotiation. In an attempt to kill the Autobot, Megatron finds Cheetor, seeing him uses a Ground Bridge, interesting Megatron.
After mapping every Ground Bridge in the planet, Megatron eventually finds the Allspark's chamber in Africa, entering it, before he was eventually disconnected with his troops and faced off by Optimus. Dueling him briefly, they are soon interrupted by Cheetor, the Allspark's guardian, who gives them the "Trials", with a failed knowledge trial. Eventually, after getting armors of their own, they dueled, before Starscream, who was invertedly resurrected by Cheetor, steals the Allspark from their backs, with Megatron claiming it to be his idea. he then returns to the Nemesis, ordering a hunt for his former second-in-command.
The Autobots then attacked the Nemesis during an attempt to locate Starscream, causing a big battle, sending his entire drone force. When he fights Optimus in the hangar, he admits that he was lying on Starscream stealing it for him when Cheetor loudly announces the Allspark wasn't in the ship. With what is happening with Starscream, Megatron was willing to go to Mount St. Hilary to negotiate with the Autobots, ordering his men to leave the discussion room as it was interrupting them, having made initial strides. However, the peace talks ends when Grimlock threw Shockwave through a wall and onto the negotiating table, to which Megatron orders the troops to leave. As the ship slowly repairs, Megatron threatens Shockwave to replace him with Soundwave to speed up the process. Eventually, Shockwave's severed hand attacks Megatron, before Shockwave arrives to demonstrate a device that would control Starscream's scarplets. However, as he explains about the controller Jetfire attacks the Nemesis to find Sky-Byte. Eventually, Sky-Byte arrives to offer Megatron Jetfire's head if Megatron is willing to help Sky-Byte in killing him, which Megatron refuses so he can continue his search for the Allspark. Jetfire, cladded in armour thanks to Starscream, kidnaps Megatron. Seeing Optimus was also kidnaped by Sky-Byte, Megatron actively encourages the 2 enemies to settle their feud with each other by fighting each other to the death. hen Sky-Byte was at Jetfire's mercy, Megatron compliments him and Gaudes him to kill Sky-Byte to which the disgusted Jetfire leaves to tend Optimus' wounds. Eventually, he holds Sky-Byte at gunpoint to have him reveal where the Allspark is.
The Allspark was with Starscream, who merges with it to become a god, intending to absorb the sparks of all Cybertronians. Sky-Byte leads Megatron to where the Allspark is, seeing that the Autobots have already beaten him to it, but were all interrupted by Starscream. Starscream arrests their motor functions and incapacities them so he can painfully drain all their sparks. However, Optimus uses the Matrix of Leadership to create an energy blast that blasts the Allspark out of Starscream. Megatorn then quickly gets a hold of the Allspark, but the now feral Scarplets attack him, losing his hold on the Allspark. Grimlock then fights him, who Megatron briefly knocks him out before claiming the Allspark until Grimlock sends him hurling down a chasm. Eventually, now that the Allspark is at the hands of the Autobots, Megatron detects the launch of multiple Autobot scout ships, having sent some of his ships to destroy them. Upon Sky-Byte buying the nemesis time by attacking the Ark upon seeing through the ruse, Megatron prepares to have it destroyed until Cheetor heals Optimus' wounds. Shockwave then makes a final decision to use a hologram to fake the destruction of the Space Bridge to force the Autobots to travel through space. Megatron was pleased by Shockwave's ruse and sends the Nemesis through the Space Bridge to arrive on Cybertron. Eventually, Megatron made the Threshold of the Well as his fortress and threatens Chromia to kill Perceptor to give a false message to Optimus to lure them in a trap. Upon seeing the Autobots' incoming arrival, Megatron prepares to destroy them all.
Season 3[]
When the Autobots emerges at the atmosphere, Megatron has Shockwave fire at the ship and destroy it, however, the Autobots escaped using escape bots beforehand. He then leads the charge against the Autobots during the final battle of the Great War, dueling Optimus Prime. When Optimus evades Megatron's Scarplet trap, he manages to pin him to the ground and has war-ready versions of Shockwave's drones to surround the Autobots. However, the Autobots push past the drones and places Megatron at a huge disadvantage as the Autobtos destroy Vector Sigma and bring the Allspark to Cybertron's core. Refusing to accept defeat, Megatron orders Shockwave to kill himself to corrupt the Allspark and destroy it, dooming Cybertron. However, before Shockwave's damage could be complete, Cheetor sacrifices himself to purify the Allspark and save all of Cybertron. Enraged, Megatron attempted to attack Optimus Prime but he was then sent flying towards his own Scarplet Trap, losing the Great War and ending it for good.
However, later the Decepticons were then captured by the Quintessons when they invaded, trapped in the Scientist's loop to drain their spark and the Allspark as well, stuck in a never-ending loop in which he is in a parade where it seemed that he achieved victory over the Autobots. When Dead End broke free, he tried to free Megatron much to no avail. Perceptor eventually frees him and the rest of the Decepticons. Despite the growing threat of the Quintesson Judges who sought the annihilation of the universe, Megatron refused to form an alliance with the Autobots and sulked in Iaconus'stasis hold. Dead End then arrives to deliver some pleasing news to Megatron, telling about the Quintesson's ability to travel across the universe, seeing the opportunity, Megatron allies with Optimus and helps the Autobots destroy the Quintesson ship and seemingly save the universe. Then Megatron betrays the Autobots and throws them out of the ship as he uses the multiversal drive to conquer all the other universes. However, despite their belief, the threat to the universe didn't end after Megatron left, as Starscream then emerged as the new Judge, planning to annihilate the universe.
Unaware over the danger of his home universe, Megatron traversed for eternity, gaining a new Cybertronian vehicle mode and gained the ability to manipulate exotic energy. Encountering a universe where he won the great war, Megatron witness the atrocities of the Other One, whose cold-blooded lack of honor that wiped out most of his kind and deprived all new life of free will horrified even Megatron. Realizing the sheer gravity of his goals, Megatron abandons his multiversal conquest and saves the sole survivors of the Other One's genocide, Astrotrain and the Insecticons while stealing the Other One's matrix out of sheer disgust, losing one of his optics in the process. Arriving back on the home universe, he finds about the new Judge being Starscream. Using the energy of the Matrix to empower the Autobots and Decepticons, Megatron and Optimus combines the energy of their matrixes to destroy Starscream for good and saving the universe. Megatron then offers a treaty to split Cybertron into 2 halves, one in which he rules, to prepare for Megatron X's arrival.
He has Astrotrain and Dead End develop the Unspace weapon for prepations of Megatron X's arrival. Optimus Prime led an attack on the Decepticon base on Cybertron to claim the Matrix in order to repair Windblade. Suddenly Perfect Decepticons appears and both Autobots and Decepticons fought and defeated the first group of Megatron X's warriors. Megatron uses the Unspace weapon to banish the second wave of Perfect Decepticons to Unspace. Then Megatron X arrives and swipes the weapon away from his counterpart. The alternate Megatron attacks the Decepticon leader, mortally injuring him. Megatron make amends with Prime and says "One shall stand. One shall...before losing consciousness. Megatron X levitates the prime Megatron, removing the his Matrix from him, causing him to fall down and killing him.
Apperance[]
Megatron is gigantic robot with arm mounted cannon, he has red, grey and black colors, after his travel through the multiverse, Megatron has an eyepatch after an encounter of his evil counterpart born from his negative emotions and personalities, Megatron X.
Personality[]
Megatron was defined by his mania of obtaining power, Originally, Megatron was merely cold-hearted, ruthless and an understanding leader of the Decepticons, However after witnessing the threats of Starscream and his Scraplets, Megatron was willing to ally with Optimus Prime, his brother-in-arms against him, In season 3, after a battle against his evil twin, Megatron changed his ways and helped to defeat the troops of his evil counterpart born from his negative emotions and personalities.
If those betrays him, Megatron will show his mercilessly wrath and kill them as it shown when he silently thrashed and murdered Starscream when he tries to kill him in attempt to take over his place as the Decepticon leader.
Despite of his ruthlessness, Megatron shown to be honorable. He is willingly to fight alongside with his arch-rival, Optimus Prime against a common enemy. When he was saved from Starscream's Scraplets, he granted the Autobots to take their leave. This increased tenfold after witnessing the horrors he could've done if he had taken Optimus' life when he refused his offer to join him instead of sparing him when he went to the universe of Megatron X, causing him to seek peace with the Autobots and with Optimus and lost interest in conquering half of Cybertron trying to protect all of Cybertron from the threat his counterpart poses. When he ends up being murdered by his counterpart, Megatron makes peace with Optimus with his last words being "Prime... One...shall stand...one...shall..." before dying before he could complete.
