Mei Mei is a supporting character from the anime and manga series Jujutsu Kaisen and its prequel movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0. She is a first-grade sorcerer, an upperclassman to Suguru Geto and Satoru Gojo at Tokyo Jujutsu High. She worked on her own outside of Jujutsu High for a living before assisting in the battle of the Shibuya Incident alongside her younger brother, Ui Ui.
She is voiced by Kotono Mitsuishi (who also voiced Boa Hancock in One Piece, Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Usagi Tsukino in Sailor Moon) in Japanese and by Amber Lee Connors in English.
Appearance[]
Mei Mei is a tall voluptuous woman with pale skin and long silver hair. In 2006, her hair was shorter than shoulder-length before starting to tie it into a unique hairstyle that is a braid at the front, mostly hiding her eyes. She also wore a black uniform and a pale necktie, a black long dress, and a pair of black boots.
Her current attire is a dark purple dress with shoulder balls like a princess dress and high-kneel leather boots.

Mei Mei maintains a carefree and undisturbed nature in most situations. However, beneath her tranquil exterior lies a strong focus on gaining large sums of money, seemingly over other of her personal aspects. Showing not many sources of arrogance and is also sincere, she openly shows her care but will eventually show her selfish side. She also shows interest in learning the abilities of her opponents acknowledges Yuji Itadori's impressive superhuman prowess and recognizes Maki Zenin's talent which concludes she should become a fourth-grade sorcerer.
It also appears that Mei Mei is a very exploitative woman when it comes to her brother as she is often seen weirdly interacting - in a charming way with him, a way siblings would not do.
Powers and Abilities[]
The strongest known sorcerer, Satoru Gojo himself has thought about Mei Mei's fighting prowess. Due to having concluded earlier in life that she has the useless cursed technique to only have commands over crows, Mei Mei forced herself to go through training that would allow her to become as strong as today as a grade 1 sorcerer. Niji Ebina, a cursed user who is about at semi-grade 1 potential, also stood no chance. However, her unmatched fighting talents meet the sealing when she is confronted by the special grade curse Smallpox Deity and for the first time in a long time in her sorcerer career, she experiences a high level of danger by receiving more severe injuries than usual. With her brother joining her in battle, she eventually exorcised the curse and even got Kenjaku's attention, who has lived for centuries and possesses immense knowledge in the jujutsu world.
Abilities[]
- Axe Proficiency, Superhuman Strength, and Agility: Mei Mei showcased her unmatched close-ranged fighting skills and superhuman prowess by slaughtering several groups of humanoid cursed spirits in a matter of seconds with her axe. Unsurprisingly, a mere heavy swing of the large axe can instantly murder curse users and tear apart objects of a special-grade spirit, such as the coffin generated by Smallpox Deity that trapped her inside.

- Black Bird Manipulation: Since birth, she has had the ability to control birds through telepathy from a very distanced location, a technique that she initially believed to have not much use in her future. She can be seen to do so by using one of her bird's visions as well as being able to guide them at a certain number at the same time.
- Bird Strike: A fatal technique that allows Mei Mei to manipulate crows into sacrificing themselves through Binding Vow by charging themselves at an alarming speed toward their target, an attack fatal enough to kill special grades with single hits. Additionally, only Satoru Gojo has survived such an attack, showing how deadly this attack can be.
Trivia[]
- Mei Mei is ranked as possibly one of the most hated characters in the series. Fans dislike her for taking advantage and grooming her younger brother as well as leaving Shibuya in Japan to go to Malaysia while her comrades in Shibuya were risking their lives. Ironically, Malaysia was also the same country that Nanami dreamed of going before his death.
