~ Meifon Sakura |
Meifon Sakura is a supporting character in Valkyrie Drive Mermaid. She is an undercover gambler and survivors from Wärter who was taken to Mermaid Island, where she meets Mamori Tokonome and Mirei Shikishima long after. A half Taiwanese and half Japanese girl, she has a quick-wit and is very agile on her feet, which make up for, as well as help her take advantage of, her small stature. She's an entrepreneur who's so cheap, she will do anything for money. But still has a heart and will offer to those who need it.
She was voiced by Yurika Kubo in Japanese and Brittney Karbowski in English.
Personality[]
Meifon has a cheerful and upbeat personality. However, she also has a prevalent mean streak, being a former gambler who still loves to tease others for the sake of amusing herself. While normally carefree, Meifon does know when to get serious when the going gets tough, as shown when she shows up to the aid of Lady Lady, Rain, Hibiki, and Mirei against Momoka. She loves money more than anything, so much so that it's what triggers her transformation into an arm rather than a Liberator. Whenever she has the upper hand in a situation, she will take advantage of it and take on a provocative nature.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Gold Money Armor: Rather than having another girl to serve as her Liberator, Meifon instead uses money in order to Drive. While in this form, she can create force-fields and generate electricity for defense and/or combat purposes respectively. However, while the armor is an incredibly powerful weapon, it's extremely fragile and will vanish once the battle is over. Each time she uses money to Drive, she must find a way to regain the amount she's lost for the next time she decides to Drive.
- Drive Breaks: Lucky Trap - An attack that involves Meifon placing her hand on a wet surface to generate electrical shockwaves that surround and trap her foe.
